Geez, Holland is beasting. One hit allowed in 6 innings. He's at 73 pitches, so maybe he can go all the way.
Toronto has a scout at tonight's Rangers game, and Holland is throwing a gem. We'll see what the means, if anything.

OK -- So I wanted to follow up on the whole Doug Davis thing. I spoke to a person within the Diamondbacks front office -- no not the cleaning lady or the bat boy -- and he told me that it was unlikely that they'd trade Doug Davis. The only way they'd make that move was if someone would blow them away. Now, he did confirm to me that the Rangers DID contact them with interest but that talks have not gone any further than that.

OK Latest for the Rangers : There have been serious talks between the Rangers and the Blue Jays. I also found out the Halladay would NOT veto a trade to the Rangers. This is of course good news for the Rangers. I was also told that Justin Smoak could be available in a potential deal. I know many Rangers fans may not like that news, but he is one of the names that is floating around.

I know everyone in this thread hates me to death but let me say one truthful thing that I'm sure you're all aware of.
If the Rangers get Roy Halladay, look the out. AL West is a done deal, AL, maybe.
Dude..nobody hates anyone on a forum...we don't even know you. Just don't like it when people ruin a perfectly good thread by jumping in and talking . But yeah...things will get very interesting if they get Halladay.
Interestingkeep em coming.
Has anyone else read Hamilton's book beside me?
In the end, getting Halladay is something that I would smile about...BUT I wouldn't do it because of the future we'd be selling. I'm not saying that I'd hate to get Halladay, I just really want us to stick to the plan that is working for us. Build the youngins and be really good for the next few years. I don't want to risk getting better for this year only for that to hurt what we can do down the road.
I don't like the idea of giving up both Smoak and Holland.
Holland showed tonight when he's got his headout of his ass, he's got DAMN good stuff.
The diamondbacks are s for keepingDavis and needing to be "blown away" for him.
No wonder they are in last.
I read it as well.
Damn good read.
If the Rangers got Halladay I'd get a white, blue, and red Halladay jersey.
Gauranteed
Any news Paul on if they are pursuing a bat?
Good Morning Ranger lovers,
Since I'll be in the air flying home from Baltimore for most of the deadline news this is the latest from speaking to people within the Rangers front office.
The are still talking with the Blue Jays about Halladay. The Blue Jays are asking for Holland, Justin Smoak (as I mentioned yesterday) and two other prospects. I was told that Tom Hicks would sign off on the deal, since everything right now really has to go threw him.
As far as a bat. I was told they were VERY happy with their situation with the sticks and if any move is made it would probably a guy off the bench who could be like a Matt Stairs type for them. He wouldn't give me any name but said there were 2-guys that they were looking at.

Smoak, Holland, & Feliz should be close to untouchable in any trade.
If they trade one of those guys, I'd be okay with it. But not two. Anyways, Roy Halladay hasn't had a good track record pitching at The Temple, I wouldn't be shocked if he looks decidedly ordinary on the Rangers.
But either way, it isn't happening. No trade will be happening. Tom Hicks doesn't have the money to increase payroll by that significant an amount.
I have family that works within the organization and the look of it so far this morning is that its dead![]()
I'd do Smoak, Feliz and a 2nd/3rd teir prospect. I know Feliz throws gas but im not sold on him as a starter, his secondary pitches are way behind. He could turn into just a Zumaya or Rodney
No Holland, No Deal..

funny thing you posted that article it was written by my dad.
i dont remember if i've told people this or not, but my dad is in fact the beat reporter for the Rangers website, TR Sullivan.
he's on the phone write now talking to Hicks, which is why i rushed the computer i thought they had a deal in place but it looks like talks have broken off
Holland is the real deal and will be a ranger for the next 5 or 6 years.
now according to bump's dad article they want about Tommy Hunter,Justin Smoak, Julio Borbon and max ramerize for roy
Sweet...I'd say he is pretty much in the know. Just heard him talking to Norm on The Ticket
if that the deal then do it
oh, haha i thought it was Hicks
i haven't really seen any of them play except for Hunter, but i know Ramirez is supposed to be really good but we have enough catchers
I don't mind giving up a catcher. Even Salty or Tea. They are all turning out to be fairly mediocre anyways. But Holland? No way.
