Lakers. KG is declining fast and Sheed is no more than a very solid vet

Btw I went with Boston cause of its defensive intensity and versatility.
    +1
If Bynum stays healthy and returns to his former self it could be the Lakers.

Lakers. Younger, more athletic overall, more versatile, better offensively, all still in the prime of their careers. Also, they have a slight edge in overall size.

Boston is still very, very good up front. But two of those three at the power positions are past their prime, and none are prolific scorers, not even KG anymore. The Celtics bigs are better defensively and probably are tougher. But, the Lakers overall are more talented, especially considering the stages of the careers of each respective player.

I'd take Perkins over Bynum right now. Perkins is a great defender and can actually make it through all 82 games. Bynum probably has more, what for it, potential but dude has to prove he can play more then 30 games each year.

went with the C's because odom/gasol/bynum are some mixture of inconsistency/soft/unproven junk. though, when clicking on all cylinders would be re edly sick. The C's are bags but bring it every night, minus the whiner sheed.

    3 years ago, Boston.

    Sheed's 35 years old
    KG's 33 years old

Now it's easily Bynum,Gasol, Odom. Pau & Odom are in their prime.

Regardless of age, IMO KG is still > Gasol.

    Talk about EPIC FAIL.

So Odom (who comes off the bench) is in the Lakers option but Paul Pierce (who starts at the 3) isnt in the Boston option?

Gino, I was talking about the PF and C position. Sorry if I didn't make that clear. Sheed is Boston's primary backup PF/C, and Odom is LA's backup PF/C.

I think this is about matching Center/PF positions.

    Bynum/Perkins
    Pau/KG
    Odom/Sheed

Fair enough. Id still take the Celtics three over Gasol, Odom and Mr. "12 minutes/5 fouls" Bynum.

As would I. I also think Sheed is being underrated here. He's obviously not the offensive weapon he used to be but he's still a great defensive rebounder. The best defensive rebounder on LA's three (Odom), might actually be a worse defensive rebounder than all three of Boston's players.

Boston, Perkins can hold hes ground and did well vs D Howard

I can see him giving a hard time to Bynum, but both plays will cancel each other out.

KG is the man, he will score on anyone, Sheed will do hes thing and nothing the lakers can do about it...

paul pierce (the greatest player in the world) will stop kobe
All the C's major players beside Rondo are rapidly approaching the end of their respective careers and their statistics are showing that decline.

Garnett has logged almost 40,000 minutes in the NBA.

Pierce 30,000 minutes. Allen 35,000 minutes. Rasheed Wallace 34,000 minutes.

Wallace's "thing" is to sit out on the 3pt line and jack up 3's. This is going to help, how?

I think age is going to start being a problem with this team, and Wallace is going to be demanding a trade and getting T's by the dozen once things start to fall apart.

    LA

But if you listed Bostons frontcourt correctly (PIERCE, Garnett, and Wallace) than I would go with Boston.

Pierce may not be a big man but he is still a forward.
