I have to disagree with this, the cell chip has so much unlocked power and potential that Sony will try to get as much out of it as possible. Xbox probably has another 2 years because they're going to start maxing out the power sometime soon.
Also, I think Sony is too proud to say ok we've lost this generation lets release the PS4. Not to mention Blu Ray is still attractive for those who want to take advantage of it.

Peripherals have NEVER done well when released this late into the game. There is no way I can see Natal really taking off.
Zero Punctuation said it best about the Wii this week: Until you have true physical feedback, motion controls will never be good enough for hardcore gaming.

lol..agreed..I've owned both..my PS3 just pissed me off. I traded it and ALL of my PS3 games just to get my 360 back and one game.
the problem with using your hands and body to control game characters is the majority of gamers relax while gaming, even if its intense combat or something. I don 't want to actually run around the corner, if I did I'd be at the gym. The aiming will always be hard to pull off as well.
the only that sucks with most of mmorpg is when you h ave a godly character or equips...then patch comes out its either nerf it or the godly equips are easier to find now..and ur stuff devalues in price....
IDK if you guys know this but ps3 is having a price cut this month $299. And they're releasing a ps3 slim. Rumored to be out Sept. 1.

They'd only give me $60 + like 15 for each game (8) for my 360, PS3's were $600, so I went to EBay sold the games and 360 for $450.

The thing I liked with cartridges was the inexistant loading time.
Plus, the games were saved on the cartridge (i.e, games like Zelda, Mario), so if a lazy friend borrowed your game, he could start where you left off.
Will it be backwards compatible with PS2?
