Rotoworld http://www.rotoworld.com/content/Home_NBA.aspxFree agent Bruce Bowen will soon decide between joining the Celtics or the Cavaliers, according to Hoopsworld.com.
The Magic had been mentioned as a possible suitor, but have fallen out of the picture, while a return to San Antonio appears "unlikely." The Celtics are "said to be holding off on signing Marquis Daniels" while they ponder adding Bowen, though there's no doubt Daniels gives them greater versatility.]

damn it !
Wtf!!??!? Nooooooooooooooooooooo!
I still think Bowen will retire if he's not playing in S.A.
"Hey Ray, can you show the new guy around?"
"Sure Doc, but who did we...ah, that."
They're speculating.
The scary thing is i can actually envision Bowen playing with the Celtics next year....![]()
I think the Cavs need him more. They are really lacking a good perimeter defender. He could actually be a difference maker on that team. Good luck to you Bruce.
If Bruce signs with the Celtics, I'd have to get that jersey ...
Why donīt you already own one?
man that sucks ... is this legit? ... brucie did a decent job on pierce last year .. and hes pretty clutch with the three.... i hope he retires ... but yea if he does go back to the celts... i wish him all the best...
While I would hate to see Bruce in another jersey going up against our guys, I don't see the need for people to freak out about it. Half of the media was claiming Bruce to be a weak link last season, and suddenly he's going to be a savior for his new team?
While I'm sure Bruce still has enough gas in the tank to defend the best of them, it's not like he can cover Tony, Manu, RJ, AND Tim. And if he goes East, it wouldn't really matter anyways unless both our team and his team makes the Finals.
That being said, my money is on return or retirement.

I think the notion that a player who loves his family will not go to another town is overstated here. LOTS of NBA players do it. There have millions. They can afford to have expensive homes in 2 cities. The wife and kids can fly back and forth all they want first class. If they move with the player to that city, they can fly in family to visit with the wife when on a long road trip. They can pay people to look out for things in SA if they leave for a few months. Bruce's kids are young enough that they do not even have to be in school. And even with training camp, an NBA season is 6 1/2 months plus the play-offs. I think given the life the NBA has provided them that Yardley would not stand in the way of his opportunity possibly to win another NBA le. In the same situation, I surely would not.
I can not see him joining just any team- but a team that could win it all. Yes.
+100000000. He's already made his money so it's not about the money. Plus, his family and life is in San Antonio. If he's not playing with the Spurs, he's retiring....
Except Bruce seemed very sincere in his statement. I'd be very surprised if he played anywhere else.
I do not think anyone believes it is about money, but what if he still wants to play? What if he wants to prove he can still contribute in a manner in which he did not have the chance last season? What if he wants to show that an older player can still hang with the young guys through his hard work, dedication, and knowledge? What if he simply does not believe his NBA career is over?
Do you not know anyone whose career has taken them away from family or home temporarily?
This will just make him our man on the inside. His job will be to destroy the team chemistry of the Cavs or Celtics.
Because it looks like the Spurs didn't even want him back!
Good luck to Bruce!!
