Like any of you wouldn't jump at the chance to make more loot. As good a person as Bruce seems to be, when it comes down to loyalty vs. making money, making money wins out a lot more times than not.

I would like him to end his career as a Spur and he could still contribute this year as a defender, but I won't blame the man if he decides to join the celts or cavs. More power to him.

First, you have to consider the source.

I'd hate to see him in another uniform but it's not like he'll be getting a lot of playing time in Boston or Cleveland. It would almost be the same scenerio if he were to return to SA.

I do not think anyone believes it is about money, but what if he still wants to play? What if he wants to prove he can still contribute in a manner in which he did not have the chance last season? What if he wants to show that an older player can still hang with the young guys through his hard work, dedication, and knowledge? What if he simply does not believe his NBA career is over?

Do you not know anyone whose career has taken them away from family or home temporarily?
He could feel all those things. But his recent comments on Peter Burns show to the effect of he doesn't feel like he has to play basketball next year. Or his other comments about not wanting to uproot his family from San Antonio and how it's important for him to spend more time with his boys at this age, make me feel like he might retire.

Sure, if he has a burning desire to play basketball and the only place he can do it is outside S.A., then more power to him. But his recent comments have indicated otherwise.

You lost all credibility when you dropped 'brucie'.

Bowen on the Celtics actually provides the counterweight for my dislike of Pierce, KG and Shuttlesworthless.

I wish the Spurs could sign him as a coach. It'd be nice to see him working with the younger players.

The Celtics could use him as a defensive stopper, the way Tony Allen was supposed to be last year.

That would be ty. he knows our system/plays inside out. He's highly intelligent and still a lockdown defender regardless of what anyone says. If he goes to one of those, we are just about certainly going to have to play against him for a le. I'd hate to see Bowen shutting manu or TP down.

Bruce has said several times a coaching gig is not his way to go forward. Regarding Celts-Cavs info, when he was released, we discussed how soon teams can talk to him, and I think there was a 7 day period before contact can be made, then another X amount of days till they can sign after clearing.

Personally, I know that he doesn't want to play for anyone else than Spurs, but then again Bruce is a business person, and it would be tough to pass up roughly $1.2 mil+ more at his age to play one more year. It's easier that it's a team in the east, and to a contender.

Hang tight, and I'll see what comes up.
