And the best they could do in that era is win 1 round against a team with a bunch of players who's never made the playoffs before?
In an interview on 1560 the game:
H: Yao, you guys actually believe that Yao can come back and it is not as career threatening?
DM: I am not a doctor but based upon what the foot specialists are saying they all said with the advances in the genetic goop they put in the bone to help it grow, it gives you optimism, but no one knows how a 7'6" guy's foot will react...but if you look at the data of a normal man, we have optimism there. The bottom line is that with Mac out and Yao out, those are our all star players you need to win a le, whether that is Yao coming back or Tracy coming back or whether it is through a trade or young guys develop into that.....that is our focus right now.
Not a definite over, but read between the lines....He doesn't say that both are coming back
And the best they could do in that era is win 1 round against a team with a bunch of players who's never made the playoffs before?
Actually, before scola, brooks, landry, battier, and the other guys came along, they had nobody besides Yao and McGrady
2004-2005 team: Yao, Mcgrady, Mike James, Ryan Bowen, Juwan Howard, David Wesley, Bob Sura, Moochie Norris, Clarence Weatherspoon, Scott Padgett, Vin Baker, Torraye Braggs, Dikembe Mutombo, Jon Barry
2005-2006 team (worse than the 2004 team) : Alston, Derek Anderson, Lonny Baxter, Jon Barry, Keith Bogans, Rick Brunson, Josh Davis, Gerald Fitch, Richie Frahm, Dion Glover, Stromile Swift, Yao, McGrady (hurt most of season), Juwan Howard, Moochie Norris, Luther Head
2006-2007 Team: Lost b/c Yao did not help Mcgrady at all...mcgrady averaged about 30 ppg
2007-2008: No Yao for playoffs

It's better than being remembered for making it to the Finals just to choke on Wade's .
A team that's been to the Finals or a team that's constantly failed to make it out of the first round?
Please, don't threaten to kill me like you did thunderdan.
LOL, you and BlunderDan are both blind to the facts. Regardless of what you say no one remember's a loser, it's all or nothing.![]()
An Open Letter to Rocket fan,
Please refrain in the future from any discussion that involves choking or lack of playoff success. Your cooperation in this matter is appreciated. Now STFU.
Sincerely,
Findog
It's definitely better to win the first two games on the road in a first-round series, only to get assraped by 40 in the deciding Game 7.
I thought the Rockets won that series? Didn't T-Mac have that cool dunk on Shawn Bradley?
It was best 2 out of 3. The Rockets swept it 2-0.
Cool, so what's this business with people saying T-Mac can't get out of the first round?
i watched that serie, i knew game 7 was a blowout but 40 pts wow.
...and I give a because? You won, we lost by 40 that's been the Yao and T-Mac era in a nuts . I can accept it, apparently some Mavs fan can't accept ala wanna be 2006 champions, etc. Like I said the past 10 years the Mavs didn't do and neither have the Rockets. Are you guys proud of the division banner's you hang at the AAA every other year?![]()
I don't call out other fanbases for their team's lack of playoff success. That's the difference. Can you grasp that concept? Apparently not.
Funny you say that since I didn't strike the first blow on this conversation. Now, I don't give a how much the Rockets lose, this is my city and I will represent it till the day I'm 6 feet under. I'm not a bandwagon fan who wants to change teams every other month like some people.
Just chill out......Findog obviously gets off to that 40 point win every night, let him have his fun
Hopefully Yao retires so they can move on
Not really. It just mystifies me that Rocket fan wants to give Mav fan about choking...kinda like Shelden Williams calling Tyrone Hill ugly.
I even had to laugh at that one. To be honest we shouldn't trip so much about this , it's just a game. You're right djohn2008.
Let's just see what this season brings......
lol but Yao really should retire since its the same thing every year, and he can't be the foundation of the franchise anymore......If Yao somehow does retire, his 16 mill comes off the books, as Mcgrady's 23 mill comes off the books, and they can go after two superstars......I know they plan to go after Bosh, but if Yao retired they should also go after Wade.....But only if they sign Bosh, they can get Wade too
