Colonial Stern is right, tanking a season will give the Rockets much more than what they may probably get after a hard working season, and the star plays won't consider the Rockets crap even if Rockets struggles bad next season. Usually a No.1 draft pick is more than enough to infuse a lot of confidence into a scrub team, like the Clippers who suffered a terrible season and got the No.1 pick but is still expected to be a contender next season, not to say the draftees of this year have the lowest talent and potential in this decade. Morey just needs to convince his current players their team still is good and it won't be a bad decision to remain here, and extend their contracts into the post 10 era. When the 10 summer comes, the Rockets will have a nice squad filled with Scola, Brooks, Landry, Battier, Lowry and the lottery draftee.
sadly I must agree with this. Sure we made it to the 2nd round just this year, but they made it to the finals when we were anchored in the 1st round year after year.
