I'm not sure if we Spurs fans are being fair to dirk here...he might be getting unfairly judged by the lack of D that his team has historically (last 5 years) had...

Plus, some on this list have been questioned (bosh)...

dirk is a good defensive rebounder, and is not a weak post defender. But this much is clearly true: Dallas was not having a mediocre center guard duncan just because they were afraid of Dirk getting fouls: even when dirk did not have many fouls, he would not guard duncan at the end of games. That says something to me.

There will be far more that 25 big guys being listed as better defenders than Dirk when idiots are permitted to cast their votes, then it comes to the conclusion that Dirk is defensively weaker than anyone in NBA, though it won't get a crap from the fans who have more or less knowledge about the league.
