I really liked Drew on our team. He's a great guy on offense...But his defense is pathetic.

Well he was playing great in the playoffs.
I gues he can still score 8 points, 7 rebounds in 25 minutes. We don't even need his offensive game that much, but on defense he will be more effective than Drew.
And what do you think Gooden will give your team?
Do you disagree that it was?
10 points, 10 rebounds, 1 block and very good defense to help out Duncan.
on the other hand Gooden gives you 12 pts, 7 rebounds, no blocks and a laughable defense

I rather have Jefferson, Dyess, Theo, Mahnimi, Blair than Marion, Thomas and Gooden.
Lets just hope Marion doesn't choke again when he'll see the Spurs uniforms. He did that every single time so far.
When Jefferson is replacing Finley and Dyess is replacing Bonner then I think it's pretty good.

lol for some reason the mavs always wake up to play the spurs.
they play like one night but when they play the spurs, they just turn on another gear.

Lakers are still #1. Thing is, the Lakers have similar amount, or more talent than the Spurs at this point, and even if they had the same amount of talent than the Spurs, or even a little less, it's proven talent. The team worked together for a couple of seasons, making the Finals twice, winning once.
The Spurs on the other hand, are made up of a whole bunch of different parts. Theoretically, it works, but we still have to see how the team plays before jumping to conclusions. A team like the Celtics, where totally new parts being put together and performing well is not the norm.
I can't believe someone just said Mcdyess is going to avg. a double double.

He averaged 10-10 last season. Probably unlikely next to a dominant rebounder like Duncan though.
I can see him with something like 8-8 on 50% FG with a block and pretty solid defense. Pretty much all you need next to a 20-10 guy.
Congrats Spurs, now the fans can't whine about how nobody picked you and how you were flying under the radar.
Ok, Gooden is a decent player but lets not get carried away.
The only thing Gooden has on McDyess is youth and a back to the basket post up game (which isn't all that great). McDyess is a much better midrange shooter, rebounder, interior defender, and has better basketball IQ than Gooden.
All of which adds up to > Drew Gooden.
