The thing is in Adelman's offense, you don't need superstars
Curious as to how people think the Rockets will do this season.
They lost Wafer and more importantly Artest to FA.
They lost Yao for the season due to injury.
Tmac is likely out for a long while.
They have no other stars, just a bunch of really solid role players and Adleman.
They picked up Ariza, but how good is he anyway?
The thing is in Adelman's offense, you don't need superstars
Brooks is gonna be the go-to guy. They are still looking to make trades, but they are taking a patient approach, since they don't want to trade for someone who will tie up money for 2010, but we will see how it all plays out
I don't think he can handle it, dude is only in his 3rd year and hasn't even started for over half a season.
I love how all the posters on clutchfans disrespected him so bad last season and now he is our best trade asset.
Next season will be ...interesting.
they are just gonna play pick and roll and spread the floor let brooks go wild with no assists
He proved he can handle the pressure in the playoffs, and now that there is no pressure on the team at all, he'll be fine
My prediction? They'll do better than the Suns, at least.![]()
I gues they can make the playoffs. 6-8 seed.
They won't make the playoffs.
Doubt it.
it doesn't look good, at least on paper. So we'll have to wait and see.
I like the Rockets; showed a lot of heart against LA in the playoffs even though they were big underdogs in the eyes of many. And maybe that will carry over into the 2009-10 season.
T-Mac should only be out the first month of the season, right? I guess if he can produce you might earn a lower play-off position. It's crazy what a few years and a few injuries do to an NBA player's reputation. As recent as two years ago, other teams were still ting themselves at the thought of that McGrady match-up. I think I literally did back in '05 when he lit it up for that 13 in 30 seconds. How things change.

Wasn't trying to be hateful or anything, and you may be right. Both of those teams are in similar position this year. It's kinda speculative pick and choose at this point anyways.
As much as I am hoping for them to tank into a lottery pick, the team is just full of try hards. As is, they are probably a 35-40 win team. Add in a rejuvinated McGrady and that team probably competes with the Suns for the eigth seed at maybe 48 wins max. Regardless, another first round exit is imminent without a full compliment of healthy players, unless it is an extremely favorable matchup.
Look for breakout seasons from Scola and Brooks.
I think 40 wins is enough to attract a top notch free agent in 2010, so, no they won't be tanking
I think the Rockets will make it to the playoffs. 7th seed is my prediction....I have full confidence in Rick Adelman providing us Rockets fans a great show.
Lookin forward to see how Ariza develops
Ever heard of the exxon valdez?!
seriously, it's gonna be hard w/out Yao. T-Mac will only carry them so far, if he's healthy. 7th seed is my prediction as well.
If we see the 04/05 McGrady, then they will make the playoffs
+1 hopefully that will happen this year.
If we get that, and Anderson can space the floor with his shooting touch, we are going to be a lot better than most people think.
