Depends on how well Powe holds up after his injury.

Cavs will be very difficult to beat, with or without Powe.

They were good enought to beat the Celtics a long time ago. Before Shaq, Anthony Parker, Jamario Moon, Leon Powe, etc.

They are "Good enough" but it is a moot point if they haven't actually done it.

Oh and spare me "They can't win in Cleveland" talk. They haven't won in Boston either (even with KG out they still couldn't do it).

He asked if they were good enough....and I told him they were. They havent won in Boston, Boston hasnt won in Cleveland. I wouldnt have brought that up because they nullify one another. Besides, they wont have to win in Boston when they finish the season with a better record. Just win the 4 home games!

They were already better than the Celtics... without Shaq, Parker, Powe and Moon.
no. they wouldn't have won a series against healthy Celtics and the Celtics upgraded significantly compared to last season. the Celtics front court will match up very well with the Cavs (and easily dominate them on defense). even a historic show of Lebron won't be enough against healthy Celtics.

Ummm... it took the game of Paul Pierce's life to beat LeBron on Pierce's home court in a game 7. Factor in the following things and only an idiot would come to the conclusion the Celtics even have a chance in the series:

    1) The Cavs added Mo Williams, an all-star, since that time.
    2) The Cavs added Shaquille O'Neal, an all-star, since that time.
    3) The Celtics are old as dirt now.
    4) The Celtics have no James Posey to guard LeBron.
    5) The Celtics have no bench.
    6) Paul Pierce cannot take games over offensively the way he used to.
    7) The Celtics will not have home court advantage this time.

The only thing the Celtics have going for them is Rondo. And Williams more or less cancels him out. Especially if they put LeBron on him on D and just let LB roam.

ok, I gladly take the idiot label, if you need to go KBP to make your point.
and who cares about the past. you look at the match ups of tomorrow.
I'm neither a fan of the Cavs nor the Celtics, so I don't need to leave the objective view.
but don't you think your arguments are a bit confusing when you point at #3 that Celtics are old, but at #2 you praise the addition of Shaq??
my point is, the front court of the Celtics matches up very well against the Cavs. Perkins, Sheed and KG are good enough as defenders to limit whatever Z, Shaq and Varejao will try to deliver. and other than Powe, Davis is healthy. none knows, if and in what shape Powe will be back. (otherwise the Celtics wouldn't let him go for nothing in return).
the other point is, that the Cavs looks strong on paper, but they are a pretty bad balanced team. Lebron masks most of this, but I think in the POs it will become obvious again.
    and btw.
IMO Mo Williams is totally overrated. despite his flawed shooting, Rondo will outplay him on both ends of the floor. he is to quick and athletic for Mo.
it's right, they will miss Posey to defend Lebron, but as I said, Lebron might deliver huge numbers (I'm sure he will), it won't be enough, because the Celtics defenders are good and smart enough to shut down the rest of the Cavs.
    btw. bench.
in my book a bench of Sheed, Davis, Daniels, House and Allen looks pretty good and quite deep as a 2nd unit. (with a small chance that Williams becomes a nice surprise for them). they might be lacking another shooting specialist on the bench, but the off season isn't over yet, watch out for a veteran signing in this department. (Wally?)
none claims the Celtics will easily win the series. it will be pretty tough. but I think the Celtics will win it in 7.

How? They got Rasheed who is old and on the down side of his career (Im not saying he wont help the Celtics, as he fits in pretty good) and Marquis Daniels who is an average player who cant shoot worth a lick. The Cavs got Shaq, who yes may be on the downside of his career but still dominates games and is a much better player then Sheed, Anthony Parker who fits what they need great, and Jamario Moon.

again, who cares for the past and if Shaq is a hall of famer. yes, Sheed is declining, but he should fit as good as any player with their roster and system.
does Shaq fit? IMO no. whatever slows the Cavs isn't good at this point. if you have Lebron, you want an open court.
that's why I think the addition of Sheed improves the Celtics more than the addition of Shaq improves the Cavs.
and Daniels is a very good perimeter defender, something the Celtics lacked when they lost Posey. he can't shoot, but has some other qualities. he will provide more help for the Celtics than Parker will provide for the Cavs. (I like Parker, but don't expect that much of an impact this days.).
and Moon? ok, decent bench player (totally overrated as a defender though.) Moon won't change much anyhow, he will be the #9 or #10 in their rotation.

Hey, like I said, Sheed fits in with the Celtics. The thing is, while the Cavs are better on the run, once they get in to the half court offense they have never had a post presence and sometimes just gave away possesions. They got that presence now. What Jamario Moon gives the Cavs however is another option to run with LeBron, which is where you said they are at their best. Anthony Parker > Marquis Daniels all day every day and this day included. Daniels shot 20 % from the 3 and 70 from the free throw line, while Parker was 40 from the three and mid 80s at the line, which is something the Cavs need.

Celtics Are A Deeper Team, And If Healthy Should Beat the Cavs.... The Cavs Are A Younger Team, And Changed Half there Roster... They Will need time to Gel. Plus they Picked Up Alot of Unproven guys.... Anthony Parker, Jamario moon, are unproven players In the Post Season, Plus Mo williams Dissapeared last year In that orlando series. i think Boston Has the Better Playoff Ready team.

Last season (when KG was playing) the Cavs owned the Celtics, they almost beat them in 2008 without Mo Williams. So how is now that with rasheed they can beat a Cavs team that now has Shaq?

logic is not your friend it seems
Kinda Funny How Boston Went 1-1 against the Cavs Last Year Without Garnett.... Ill Still Take The experienced Team over the team With A Bunch Of Question Marks..... What Did Mo Williams Do Last Year In Crunch Time against Rafer Alston??? Nothing, he choked..... Last time I checked Rondo Was 10 times Better Then Alston.... But I do think the Shaq Addition Will help them Out. but Having Garnett, and wallace In the Middle To Alter Shots makes A huge Difference. Celtics In 6.....

I dont agree the Celtics are the deeper team. I think they go 7 deep and thats it. I think the Cavs go 8 deep at least.

Despite my hate for the Cavs, they match up very well with us. With the way the games have been played, the home team has won each time. If im a betting man, Cavs will win in Boston before Boston wins in Cleveland. Sooner or later someone will win on the road.

The Celts at full strength match up well with the Magic. The Cavs match up well against the Celts. The Magic match up well with the Cavs.

I agree with that...Its kinda of a who faces who first in the playoffs to determine who will win the East IMO.
