If you don't mess around and send it of right away, you'll probably get it back in less than a week and a half.
I did everything online and they hooked me up. You just have to get your own box and print out the label they provide and send it off. I didn't pay for anything.
It happen to me as well. All you have to do is contact Microsofts customer service and they will send a box for you to send it in to them. They tell you they are going to fix it, but they just send you a new updated model. After that you shouldn't have that problem again. It does take about 3-4 weeks though.

how long ago did it happen to you? It happened mine at the end of 08 and I printed a label out and took it to a ups store and they mailed it off for me. And it didn't take that long to get back.
