Props to France and it's great to see TP playing well
^ CIA Parker.
About Batum:
First, Portland has been quite nice to let him play the game against Italy. Props to them.
The diagnostic was that Batum needed to strengthen his shoulder to fix this injury. I wonder if he can do that while continuing to practice and play games. We will see.
Props to France and it's great to see TP playing well
Batum has his high ceiling on full display. He's damn impressive on both ends of the court.
Parker gives Italy Les Bleus
Express-News
Tony Parker appears to be back up to full speed, and France is two games from qualifying for EuroBasket.
Les Bleus clinched the top spot in Group B of the additional qualifying round with an 81-61 home demolition of Italy, led by Parker's 23 points, in Pau, France.
Parker, who was held out of France's 80-77 overtime win at Italy on Aug. 5, added five assists in his 31 minutes. He played just five minutes of France's previous game, last Saturday against Finland.
Les Bleus pounced early, and Italy never made it a contest. Florent Pietrus scored all eight of his points in the first quarter, with two coming on a dunk with 2:39 to go in the period for a 19-5 lead.
The lead ballooned to 28-11 when Alain Koffi made two free throws. By halftime, Nicolas Batum had 12 points and Parker 11; the lead was 41-27. After the break, Italy never reduced the gap to single digits.
Batum finished with 18 points and eight rebounds, and Ronny Turiaf scored 14 points with five boards.
Marco Belinelli scored 19 points to lead theAzzurri while Andrea Bargnani was held to just five points and five rebounds.
The French improved to 3-0 with the victory and will meet the top team of the other group in a home-and-away two-game playoff for the last spot at EuroBasket.
Bosnia and Herzegovina improved to 3-0 in Group A with a 73-61 win over Portugal on Friday, but could still be overtaken by Belgium.
, I want to see this team at full strength just one single time !
Hopefully we qualify for the Eurobasket and the team can be complete for September in Poland (incl. Noah and Mike Pietrus).
Anyway, good game against italy![]()
France Edge Closer To EuroBasket After Italian Job
France clinched top spot in Group B of the Additional Qualifying Round for the EuroBasket with a 81-61 home demolition of Italy.
Tony Parker, who missed France's 80-77 overtime win over Italy in the first game between the sides back on August 5, played in front of the home fans on Friday and led Les Bleus with 23 points.
The French improved to a perfect 3-0 with the success, rendering their game against Finland on Monday meaningless since neither the Finns (0-2) nor Italy (1-2) can overtake them.
They will now meet the top team of the other group in a home-and-away leg to determine the last team to play at the EuroBasket.

Great news, Batum is back ! Info from lequipe.fr:
Tout ça pour rien. Rappelé par Portland et reparti samedi aux Etats-Unis pour des examens complémentaires de son épaule droite, Nicolas Batum sera finalement de retour dès lundi. «Il remonte dans l'avion aujourd'hui (dimanche) à midi, heure de Portland, et sera de retour à Paris demain. Il nous rejoindra à Pau samedi», a expliqué Patrick Beesley, dimanche
Batum takes a flight back to Paris today (not very environment friendly, those return trips to the US...)
Yep, great news. Batum has been awesome this summer.
Things are looking good for the NT. They should be able to beat Bosnia or Belgium to reach the Euro and they will have a good draw at this Euro. Reaching the quarter-final round doesn't look too difficult and after that, it's an one game elimination tournament.
For those who have not clicked on the FIBA link, if France qualifies, they will be in the Preliminary Round with Russia (without Kirilenko), Germany (without Dirk) and Latvia.
Great news for Batum. It sounds crazy but Batum is already key for France. Do we know if for the euro guys like Noah will come back?
For french posters :
TP will be in TV show Stade 2 in one hour.
^Stade 2 !!!! this show still exists ? god...
yes
and when they talk about basketball or NBA they are awfull
worst in the world![]()
Nope ! there is worst actually : ESPN Brazil
Wow, i just found out: Italy will miss their first European championship since 1961.
LMAO at people judging Bargs vs Marco Belinelli because of these games. NBA Bargs>>>>>>>>>Marco Belinelli.
Easier?

Am I the only one to not understand this ^
For Italy, Bellineli is very talented and could be a good surprise with Raptors next year. Bargnani was awful. I can't believe he got $50M/5 years.
You're not alone.
it may be so, but in the two games vs France, Bargnani sucked while Belinelli was the best Italian player.
Exactly. That would be like watching Tim Duncan struggle in the Olympics and saying someone who played better for a small amount of games will have a very nice impact over him.
I like both players, and in a niche, I think Belinelli will fill a nice role that the Raptors like to have (Kapono...), but we have seen what Bargnani can do in flashes and he averages 15 ppg, and we have seen Belinelli and what he has to offer.
He did suck though...plenty of players suck from time to time.
So how many games in how many days for France is possible?
All 8 teams that make it to the quarterfinals will play 9 games in 14 days from 7-20 September.
Those are guaranteed games, then it goes to single elimination?
