Gladiator was a poor man's "Braveheart" and Joaquin Phoenix's performance annihilated Crowe's. Russel Crowe wasnt even the best actor in that movie.
Joaquin Phoenix, who I often like, was laughably bad in that film.

And Forrest Gump was hilarious and youre a hater if you think otherwise.
It wasn't as funny as Shindler's List.

I recently watched Philadelphia the other day and was blown away at how ham-handed the entire movie is. It's the nineties version of Crash. And Crash winning Best Picture is why the Academy Awards are so scoffed.
It was and still is a great film.

No way. I honestly believed he was a sexually frustrated, power-hungry creep who would kill his own father and force his sister to have sex with him.

Crowe was great in "A Beautiful Mind", but Gladiator is one of the most overrated films of all time.

btw - No one thinks Crowe belongs on the Mt. Rushmore so lets just drop him.

In all honesty Fiennes is one of the best. The idea that he lost to Tommy Lee Jones in "The Fugitive" is crazy.

As for DiCaprio, he's never won and I would add Johnny Depp (who can act circles around that any day of the week) ahead of him, but like I said a parameter is they need to have won at least one oscar.

Also, whats with Mavs fan's bizzare obsession with DiCaprio and "The Departed"?
What's with you being a got?

You add Leanardo DiCaprio to a list of greatest four actor of all times and call me a got?

Whats your FAVORITE DiCaprio performance? Other than "Gilbert Grape", I can almost guarantee he wasnt even the best actor in whatever movie you pick.

He's a good actor, but you and Monos are bizzarely obsessed with the guy and its DISGUSTING. Stay out of my thread, .

Im not the judge, I just got the converstaion going because I didnt think there was a great band that came out this decade and a buddy was asking about the mount rushmore of singers (and thought about actors). AND its the off-season and things are slow.

Go screw yourself, KFC boy. Call up your buddy Monos and organize a slumber party of all your favorite DiCaprio films like "The Man in the Iron Mask", " anic" and "Romeo and Juliet".

Hanks isnt coming off the list. Hanks was so good in Cast Away you felt sad for a freaking volley ball. And Forrest Gump was hilarious and youre a hater if you think otherwise.
Actually, I didn't feel sad for a freaking volleyball. Honestly, I felt bad for my wallet being 9 dollars lighter.

Forrest Gump was about a re who somehow manages to be in the right place at the right time a laughable amount of times. It was not hilarious, it was overrated.

But, you're right. Phoenix was better than Crowe in Gladiator. And Crowe was still better than Hanks.

Your movie takes are just as re ed and tastic as your basketball takes.

Awwww...I was laughing at your post till I got to the last sentence.

I think Hanks is genius. Even some of his comic performances in "The Money Pit" and "A League of their own" are great.

I'm not disagreeing with you on Hanks' greatness. The dude is an awesome actor. Funny you mentioned The Money Pit and A League Of Their Own because I love Hanks' work in both of those. I'm only disagreeing with the fact that you put Tom Hanks on a pedestal over some of the greatest actors ever.

Although I do admire your dedication. Your apparent man love of Hanks seems to be bigger and more obsessive than dirk4mvp's supposed love of DiCaprio that you keep blathering about.

You dont know the history. Ive been arguing with him, Monos and other Mavs fans about this for YEARS. He just admitted he bought "Revolutionary Road" on DVD and I think he's 19. Thats all the evidence you should need.

As for Hanks, as I pointed out, he's got the trophies and the box office record (no film under 100 million in almost 20 years) to back up his resume. I doubt ANYONE else on the planet can do that. Even still, people like Hoffman, Hackman, DeNiro and Pacino...I would listen to arguments that they deserve a spot more than Hanks because they might be better "Method actors". I just think Hanks make some really great movies.

Glad you also like the money pit. Thats one of my guilty pleasures. My favorite is his reaction when the tub falls through the floor.
