And, I'm okay with that -- I think it's good to recognize the religious heritage of our country's citizens; but, who remembers how he spent our National Day of Prayer?

    The Washington Times reported:
President Obama is distancing himself from the National Day of Prayer by nixing a formal early morning service and not attending a large Catholic prayer breakfast the next morning.

All Mr. Obama will do for the National Day of Prayer, which is Thursday, is sign a proclamation honoring the day, which originated in 1952 when Congress set aside the first Thursday in May for the observance.

For the past eight years, President George W. Bush invited selected Christian and Jewish leaders to the White House East Room, where he typically would give a short speech and several leaders offered prayers...
Maybe he was serious when he said America was a Muslim nation?

So is this not a recognition of a religion in an official government capacity?

You see...now it will be republicans turn to protest such an event just like democrats protested during Bush's administration.

And might I add...for the same reasons.

Question: Why would Obama be giving a "history" lesson about the Muslim faith if he isn't trying to convert people?

I've never seen any recently past administration give a public "history lecture" regarding any religious belief.

    That could be one point?

And why just the Muslim history lesson?

Are there not other religious en ies in this country?

Sure. It's not an establishment of religion. It's history.

And why just the Muslim history lesson?
    Because it's Ramadan.

Are there not other religious en ies in this country?
One's that Americans could use a history lesson about to keep them from being completely bigoted bags?

    Maybe.

Email the White house with your suggestions.

    I merely report. You decide.

It'd be nice if we had a curious media, though.

I've never said that nor do I believe it.

I have said, however, the vast majority of terrorists (approaching 90% or more) are Islamic Extremists and they are a threat to world peace, including our own national security. They proved that on September 11, 2001 and a few other times before that...dating back to the '70's.

    Dude recognized Easter too.

I'm sure he'll recognize some of the bigger Jewish holidays coming up as well.

More "secret Muslim" bull from the bull purveyors.

The national day of prayer isn't a religious affair. It's a big, bad and sosalist governmental creation. Wake me up when Obama skips Christmas.

Not necessary for general American audiences.

Hmmm. Christians are general Americans? (Not trying to put words in your mouth) But...Why would "general" Americans not be privy to the same treatment as any other American?
