Tom Cruise was robbed of the Oscar for Jerry Maguire.
I can't believe theres not more love for Sean Penn. This guy is awesome.

tom hanks? wtf
Bogart
Hepburn
Brando
DeNiro
Depp
Dicaprio
I didn't even like Gladiator... but I think Russell Crowe is a great actor. In fact, I think Gladiator is the only movie he was in that I didn't enjoy. A Beautiful Mind, LA Confidential... tons of great stuff there.
Supporting/character actors are my favorites. Chris Cooper is definitely the greatest of our time. Gary Oldman and Christopher Walken definitely belong there. But as much as I love Dennis Hopper, I would remove him from that list and replace him with Vincent D'Onofrio

I'm a homer for Stallone.
"Help me, HELP you!"
It was nice that he was nominated but theres no way he was better than Geoffery Rush in "Shine" or Ralph Fiennes in "The English Patient".
I agree. Wait a second....
huh. no idea where that came from.
Go watch the opera scene in Philadelphia and tell me this guy isn't a great actor! Go watch him testify, how he responds to Charles and the Partners in that movie! He turned in a timeless performance. Forrest Gump is another great character. Remember Saving Private Ryan? Road to Perdition? Castaway? The Green Mile? Apollo 13?
Russell Crowe...I forgot about him!
Al Pacino
Marlon Brando
Robert Di nero
Christopher Walken
Dennis Hopper, Johnny Depp & Leo Dicaprio not too far behind
I used to think Christian Slater but he has fizzled out.
This made me die a little on the inside.
He was great in that film.
Just watched The Basketball Diaries for the first time in a while. Which further proves just how good DiCaprio is.
Great at looking constipated. The gay beach volleyball scene in Top Gun was better than anything he did in that Cameron Crowe flick.

Interesting list. Hanks barely edges out DeNiro for greatest of all time. Im not sure how they come up with the score but I think its calculated from the critical reviews of their films etc. Nicholson is only number 10 though. And Brando doesnt show up until 30!
Or what a giant you are. How many DiCaprio movies do you watch in a given week?
Mavs fan must LOVE basketball diaries since it has DiCaprio AND Marky Mark in it. Im being dead ing serious too. They LOVE these guys. Its like a bizzare obsession to anyone you might have seen on the cover of "Bopper" during the early 90s.
The more posts like that from you makes it even funnier considering how hard you're jerking off to Hanks.
GREAT ing movie. I remember being terribly uncomfortable when the pretty boy from Growing Pains was gettin a bj in a bathroom from some sweaty, middle-aged guy just to get money for his fix, but being blown away nonetheless (NPI).
Just an awesome, AWESOME performance. (again, NPI)
DiCaprio usually isnt even the best actor in the movie he's in, let alone of all time. Go through his films. Its usually the case he was out-performed by someone else.
But how hard could that be? I mean, how many times can we see his overly-serious "smoldering stare" that he stole from Tom Cruise?
Leo's best performances were in "Catch Me if You Can" and "Gilbert Grape". Everything else has been over-acting that was easily forgetable, IMO.
Dont even get me started on Marky Mark. At least he gave us "Entourage".
Tom Hanks had a string a decade ago...Hasn't done anything worthy since...
he has become "Tom Hanks" in everything he is in. Is he acting? I find him to be a nice guy. But I don't really consider him much of an actor. He is a good famous person.
Thoroughly disagree, but then again, not everyone can get THESE co-stars...

sons Samuel Jackson has to be in there
You must have not seen "Road To Perdition", "The Lady Killers", "The Terminal", "Charlie Wilson's War" or even "Catch me if you can". All this decade.
None of those characters even remotely resembles Hanks in his natural mannerisms, speech patterns, or personality.
Yeah, I consider that "acting".
i thought his acting was horrible in The Terminal and the Da Vinci Code.
Tom Hanks in Toy Story was brilliant!![]()
