Don't seperate the big three of TNT.
Yeah that show was awkward and boring without Charles. Just like his nba career, Kenny is just a tnt role player. I'm not sure he has the conviction for a management job, he'll probably get fired after a few losing seasons.
Don't seperate the big three of TNT.
similating!!!!
Kenny Smith is the glue and the intelligent backbone to TNT NBA games.
Barkley has the occasional good thought but is mostly just on there to hear himself talk.
Kenny Smith is one of the best commentators in the game and it would be a horrible blow to NBA Fans who love to watch TNT Thursdays and the NBA Playoffs.
I love those 3 together. Best studio show on TV, any sport. Take out Kenny and I don't think it will be nearly as good.
As for a replacement, not Magic or Gary. Webber is okay, but how about John Salley? EJ might not be able to reign it in if those two were together, and it would definitely be funny.
I like Kenny a lot, too. Charles is great at what he does, but somebody has to be there as a counterbalance. Kenny actually prepares and does real analysis, while Charles obviously doesn't prepare anything, which would get really old after a while. In a couple of years, Charles will be in danger of becoming the John Madden of TNT.
Eh, "Flights of the night" can get ing annoying after a while.
Gary Payton makes me cover my face in sheer embarrassment for him with the way he speaks. That brotha thinks he's at the barber shop the whole time.
Kenny is funny plus is actually knowledgeable. I agree with his analisys more than any other broadcaster. Plus he does not hate the Spurs like most others.
Charles is the man but he really doesn't know about basketball.
Webber? he pretty much just agrees with Kenny and laughs at Charles jokes thats all he does
Don't understand the hate for Kenny (except his horrible New York accent). EJ, Kenny and Charles are all great together and it would be a shame if they split up. I also like when Magic joins the panel. They're the best because they always give neutral analysis based on what they see and don't spoon feed their audience LeBron, Kobe and Boston all night long. Reggie Miller is the black sheep of the TNT family...he needs to go. Scratch that, BOTH the Millers need to go. Can't they get an Erin Andrews-like reporter to roam around during games? And Gary Payton is too stupid to be hired on a permanent basis.
ESPN should take a few notes from TNT. I can't think of one guy on that network (that covers basketball) that I enjoy listening to besides Tim Legler:
1.) Jon Barry- thinks he knows everything, wouldn't cheer for the Spurs even when Brent was there.
2.) Stuart Scott- The lazy eye!!! His little one-liners that he shouts out consistently to sound cool...or remind everyone he's black.
3.) Mike Breen/JVG/Mark Jackson- Possibly the worst trio ever.
4.) Stephen A. Smith- "Maybe if I sit here looking tough and shout louder than everyone, people will think I know what I'm talking about." It's no wonder his show lasted about two minutes.
I think I can replace Kenny. I speak Jive, so me and Chuck would have an instant connection.
I thought JVG was a better fit with Marv and Fratello when he was with them on TNT.
Breen is okay but he can do without the pathetic and annoying "Mike Breen on hand".
Mrs. Brady?!?!
YES! Now it's time for Tim Hardaway to take his rightful place as an NBA Commentator. I wonder what he'll have to say about the chemistry between Kobe and Artest.![]()
Whatever they tell him to say.
