What glitches have you found with this one that are annoying?

The only annoying glitch is the holding calls that were fixed with the last patch.

Didn't you say that fighting for fumbles was pretty stupid too?

You could not be arguing more apples to oranges here.

Halo was never meant to depict a realistic game. It's a first person shooter with arcade controls. The basis for the game is that you're a super soldier sent to repel an alien invasion. Do you not see how that might lend itself to being a little less realistic than a football game based on an existing American sport? Halo has never billed itself as a "shooting simulation".

Bungie never touted the catchphrase, "If it's in the game, it's in the game." EA sells copies of Madden because it claims to be as close to the real thing as you can get without stepping onto a football field.

I mean no offense, but you are taking a very simplistic approach about how to evaluate videogames. Didn't you spend $300+ on your gaming system? $60-150 on your controllers? $500-3000 on your TV? Probably several hundred to thousands dollars on the games you play? Wouldn't you like to see that investment become more polished and better to control every generation?

If you want to go there though, I can list literally dozens of games off the top of my head that are as realistic as possible. Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (as well as a plethora of other shooters that are now incorporating ballistic effects, real-time lighting and physics, etc.), the Gran Turismo and Forza series of racing games, you don't even have to leave the genre. MOST sports franchises other than those produced by EA make an actual attempt year after year to mimic the sport as closely as possible to reality. Which is why NFL 2k5 remains the best football game I've ever played, and Winning Eleven 9 is the best sports game by a wide margin, although Fifa 09 is also excellent so far, mostly because Konami has been kicking their ass so badly for the past decade in ratings and gradually gaining more fans to buy their Pro Evo series that EA had to produce a better soccer game or lose a lot of money as the "second best soccer game".

It took EA half a decade to develop actual tackling physics (as opposed to canned animations) in their game when 2k Games was doing it in 2004.

All I'm asking for is a significantly better football game than what we have. You're content with buying the same year after year. Do you not see the problem with this?

I don't buy the same game year after year. I haven't bought a madden game since 06. I bought NCAA last year because I didn't like Madden.

And I don't "consider videogames". I play them. That's that. I don't try to think to deeply about it. If it's fun and I like it then I like it. It ends there. I think that making video games more realistic ruins the fun. These are games where ridiculous can happen. That's the fun of video games. I don't want to have to learn a playbook and learn how to read defenses and bull like that when I'm playing a game. I like that I can run the same out pattern every other play and gain yards. I like doing a ridiculous spin move with a TE and outrunning a defensive back on my way to a 99 yard touchdown. That's the fun in games. Well for me at least.

How is running the same play over and over ad nauseum, ad infinitum, fun? How is that a challenge? Isn't that kind of similar to just doing the exact same thing over and over and over? Is it exciting when a play works for the bajillionth time and you know going into the game that it's going to work?

Sorry, I guess I just don't see the fun in such tireless repe ion.

And I don't see the fun in over thinking a video game. I'm a product of old Atari and Nintendo games where the was nothing but repe ion. That's how I grew up playing games and that's what I enjoyed about them. I do enough thinking and have enough challenges with school, work and just daily life. Why would I want to bring that into a video game where the point it to escape from all the bull ? That's why I still play games like Frogger, Galaga, Mario Bros. and 1942. There is not too much thinking involved and the is fun.

Cry Havoc is just looking more and more re ed with each post. Yeah, Madden isn't perfect (as you are expecting it to be), but it's damn good. All that business about running the same play over and over will only work against people that don't know how to play. If you play against someone that actually knows what they are doing on defense, they will find a way to shut it down and make you do something else.

Dude, it would be cool if the both of you had 360's like the rest of us to play Madden. We were in a party, me stretch, dirk, JT, and ATRAIN and played Madden till like 12 they're time. I even played Tpark in my franchise after that.

Get a new g/f man. If she can't be considerate enough to allow you to enjoy yourself, you're better off single.

it's not that, she lets me do my own thing all the time, and even watches me play. I got really good at the NCAA series on PS2 (I was like a level 30) and I used to play and she should talk on the headset so the other person thought a girl was that good at it....that was funny, but I'm 25 now, heading on 26 and she is kinda looking for a ring and all that so I'm sure she wouldn't be too happy with me buying a Xbox just to play Madden with you guys

That's all well and good, but you still have to have fun. She shouldn't yell at you for doing something you enjoy as long as it's not impeding upon your responsibilities. If anything, she should just have a an discussion with you about it and work out a compromise.

what in the ? its pretty much common knowledge that playing video games all the time annoys the out of your woman. THEY want all your attention, and don't feed me the bull about your woman being any different. They're hard wired that way, you can't change it.

And there is a noticeable difference between a significant other being less than thrilled about something and being yelled at for having a hobby. There's no way I would ever be with a woman who wouldn't let me have my own personal space once in a while. That's a pretty misanthropic, cynical, co-dependent view of women you have there.

yeah it's not a big deal now. She busts my balls about it every now and again when I'm playing, but I'm saying that I'll catch alot more for it if I go out and drop $300 on a whole new system so I can play you guys all night in Madden. That's basically what I was saying.
