Why insult the wicked witch like that?

Seriously, if people wouldn't try to pass this guy off as hero, I probably wouldn't despise him near as much as I do, well actually I probably still would if you want to be truthful about it. He's a far from a hero as it's possible to be. And the word hero is lesser for his association with it.

He's not a hero, he's a coward, a liar and a guy that had no business making decisions as a part of a government, he should have been serving in it's prisons.

I remember a few years ago, T.K. was going around making speeches about how the 30-30 cartridge was a "cop-killer" cartridge and should be banned.

what a forking idiot... 30-30 came out in the 1890's and it's pretty weak compared to other rifle rounds. ALL rifle rounds will penetrate a BP vest, which are just made to stop common pistol rounds.
In fact, he wanted to ban all rifle rounds that would penetrate body armour, including most deer hunting cartridges.

It was Senate Amendment 2619. Almost all Dems voted for it, but many more Repubs voted against.

    Idiot.

You gotta hand it to old swimmer, Teddy boy. He almost got to pick
his own successor. Or maybe he did.

But it is not a great loss, his passing. He was a proven coward, liar and
    self centered.

I would bet he his trying to convince the old devil that he should install
air conditioning for all the other poor souls that cant afford it.

Clam, just come by to lurk every now and then. Had a lot going on lately. Missed
all the "same" old arguments and looking around I see things haven't changed that much.
But I just had to big a found adieu to old TeddyBaby, a better liberal never lied, I mean
    lived than him.

    How you been?

I'm sure this is a sad time for his family and friends, but I'm not heartbroken over his passing. As far as health care reform - now that Robert "Sheets" Byrd is in the hospital and Ted Kennedy is in , and many other dems are jumping ship, the Senate has nowhere near the 60 votes needed to pass anything.

The man had the law changed in Massachusetts just so Gov. Romney couldn't appoint a successor if Kerry had won. Lately, he wanted it changed back so the Democrat Gov could appoint someone right away instead of waiting for a special election. Nothing but pure partisan politics. It would be a fitting legacy if the people of Massachusetts have finally wised up and elect a Republican to fill his seat!

Oh - and Mary Jo Kopechne finally has justice - albeit 40 years too late...

This was an obvious hit carried out by the Obama administration.

With the health care reform bill in mind, Teddy was more valuable to The State dead than alive.

Obama's timing is impressive. Economic collapse right before election. Health care reform martyr dead just as the health care reform was on its death bed just as Obama vacations in MV. Props to you good sir

I envy your son, I haven't played now in about four years. I have been
having some bad back problems. Go Friday to get it shot up again, not a
pleasant thing, but it helps some.

Family is growing, damn, I have four great grandkids now. And nearly all
my grandkids are out of high school. , most have already graduated
from college. Saturdays are the pits, I have one who graduated from
UT, the liberal in the family, one from Texas Tech and one from A&M
    Galveston.

Hey congratulations on the 34th. My 56th is coming up next March.

When we all get together, which fortunately is quite often, it is a sight
and sound to behold. But the time of year I really love is coming up.
Thanksgiving and Christmas. Everyone is here or at my Daughters
in Del Rio. Well I say everyone, some now go to their in-laws, gotta
    share, I guess, damnit........

Hey, gotta have something political......how is this hope and change
treating you. Damn good article in Wall Street Journal this morning,
editorial. Had a lot of information on the assumptions the WH and
CBO used that are such BS. The nine T they are talking about is
just wishful thinking......get a chance read it.

Hooray! A man is dead and my political agenda will now be advanced by his passing!

Senator Kennedy wasn't a great man, but he was obviously well-liked and deeply respected by his colleagues and that says something. One might think that he must have been at least marginally effective in his public service, too, given the vitriol thrown his way even in death. There wouldn't be much need to vilify a guy who never got anything done.

RIP Ted Kennedy. The substantial burdens of your public life -- many self-inflicted and still others cast by the cruel hand of fate -- are behind you.

Dang XRay... how old are you? I'm surprised you know how to turn a computer on

Not to derail the thread too much, but I'm hoping to get with my side of the clan a week or so before Thanksgiving, to show off the new kid, then to the wife's side of the family for Thanksgiving, then off to Hawaii... woohoo. Looking forward to starting my own little family.
