sounds like a good guy, hope he comes back safely.
This donsen't happen too often so I thought I should post it.Tim James, a first-round draft pick of the Heat in 1999, is now stationed in Iraq.
"I got my degree, lived the life I was able, have my freedom and became a professional athlete," James told the Associated Press last week. "I'm the example of the American dream."
James is stationed 85 miles north of Baghdad.
"In life, we all have different desires and needs," said Leonard Hamilton, James' college coach. "With the passion he has, he had to go fulfill this. I'm in total support of Tim and what he's doing. He's at peace. All we can do is hope he comes back safely."
James played in just 43 NBA games for the Heat, Hornets and 76ers before a short stint in Europe.
"I think of myself as a patriot," James said. "I wanted to give back to a country that gave so much to me."
sounds like a good guy, hope he comes back safely.
Someone needs to shoot you in the ing face.
"I wanted to give back to a country that gave so much to me."
Lots of ways to do that without risking your life in dubya's bull bogus war-for-oil that's unwinnable in an manner other than DoD spin-job "win".
He seems like a decent guy, just stupid and uncreative as a brick.
Some of you guys are pathetic.
Hope he's safe and returns safely. God bless him for being brave enough to sign up for the military.
I was going to start to decipher your non factual statements but this is sports so I won't. But I am a veteran and don't know very many of guys I was with in Iraq who ok'd any war. They just went. The politicians can decide when, where and why as long as at the end of the day my family is safe with the cons ution to protect them. Pussy!
nice one, chode.
you should have thought to let someone else post this.

"at the end of the day my family is safe with the cons ution to protect them"
so tell how dubya's bogus war-for-oil made your family safe.
If he survives, he will one day hit that death bed and be able to think back and be proud of himself for risking his life to grow stronger as an individual.
Who would want that, amirightboutons?
my man. youre en led to your opinion but stfu with stuff u dont know anything about. regardless of what decisions our leaders make, you are a citizen of the nation and if he felt obligated or the willingness to make a difference, he should be applauded. i joined the marine corps after hs and did 2 tours in iraq not because i felt i needed to support the beliefs or ideas of bush, but to make a difference and stand up for our country. i was still able to go to college and now grad school after my 4 years of service.
so as i have said you are en led to your opinions, i am en led to mine and you are a en moron. thank you
Sheep can be counted on, and you are baahing away.
Did I say I supported the war? All I said was you are a sheep and the world would be better off without you. Impressive extrapolation.
Lakaluva are you one of those that believes we shouldn't have a military? Just asking.
I'm not going to go off with my opinions on the war.... I've got alot of love for the troops past and present.
Just asking. I know some people that are completely against having a military.
How do you propose that we maintain an adequate military when you describe enlisting in the military as the act of a "dumbass"?
Kind of where I was going with it. That's what prompted the question.
So you continue to maintain a military filled with dumb, yet patriotic, citizens is adequate to meet the legitimate needs of the nation?
The question was confusing and irrelevant. If you wish to pose a question using the actual scenario being discussed rather than poorly worded hypothetical analogies, I will.
Will you answer my question based on the actual scenario and your prior posts?
Do you believe that a military sufficient to meet the needs of the nation can be maintained from the ranks of patriotic citizens "dumb" enough to be duped into military service?
So you didn't call the soldier that is the subject of this thread a "dumbass".
And these are not your words?
And later:
What, pray tell, have I assumed that is not based on the words you posted?
Now that you have acknowledged your ignorance of what the nation requires in the composition of the military forces, I will.
ok en moron. i joined in 2002 after 9.11. dont think i knew there was a strong chance i would go to war??? dont tell me what choice i had or did not have, you dont know .
your the kind of muther er that pisses off the servicemen because all u do is sit on your ass and make assumptions about you have never experienced and never will.
its one thing to disagree with the war, i know plenty of military and civilians who share the same sentiments but to call someone who sacrificed his life of freedom here in the states stupid or re ed is en ignorant
Why do you guys let LL bother you? It is what he does. For God's sake, the man needed a tutor for Calculus!!!!!!!!!!!!
