"Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira is ready to take the next step. Fresh off his unanimous decision victory over Randy Couture, the Brazilian spoke with MMAWeekly.com about his future:
"I like big fights like that. I'll be ready if they gave me a good opponent, it would be my pleasure, but if they gave me a le shot, it would be awesome."
“Minotauro” went on to explain how he would succeed where others have failed against the current Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar.
"A lot of jiu-jitsu and good standing up, make him tired man, move around, move around. When I get his timing, hit him with a good right hand and box him, box him and get him tired."
"I'm kind of calm. I can listen to my coach. I've been in there a long time. I can see what's going on. I have more experience than him. That's a big advantage I have.”
"If he goes on the top into my guard, I can play with him. Let's see, let's see what is going to happen."
If the match-up is to occur, Lesnar will first need to beat Shane Carwin at UFC 106 in November. Barring an upset, the Nogueira/Lesnar fight could take place in early 2010"

Unfortunately.
Haha and nice addition to your sig with Garrett Gilbert. It's hard to believe I'm 2 years older than all these new recruits. Just 4 years ago the entire UT championship team were my heroes, now i'm older than almost half of the team.![]()
I know how you feel...I'm 29...I'm older than a lot of the NBA All Stars..lol
Idk.. i guess i'm the odd one out, but I think a motivated Nog could give Lesnar a real tough fight.
You know i think Brock wins but i'll say if Brock takes out Carwin and Nog gets one more fight and wins impressive, this could be billed as a huge fiight..
Isn't Cain 'brown pride' Velasquez fighting the winner of Lesnar v. Carwin?
I still say it's odd to root against all fighters from a certain country...or foreigners in general...
Supposedly but that changes all the time, i bet Cain has to fight someone else first. Why not Nog and Cain, that's a great fight??
Not when it's 2 countries that dominate the sport and 1 of them is your country. If there weren't so many good Brazilians in the sport I wouldn't care but right now there's pretty much a struggle at the top to see who has the best fighters and I'd say like 90% are either U.S. or Brazilian.
