Wow! You guys really don't pay attention. I know, it was nicely suppressed during the election campaign but, I know we posted information on it here.
From 1995 to 2001, Barack Obama was the Executive Director of the Chicago Annenburg Challenge. An organization whose stated objective was to improve the Chicago School System. By their own account, they failed miserably.
It was like pulling teeth to get the records released because, well, among other things, it established Obama had a closer working relationship to Bill Ayers than he had wanted to admit but -- nonetheless -- the CAC records were released and according to their own records, Obama was a failure at the only executive position he ever held.
Well, until the current one, that is.
And, you're right, most of the information can be found on "right-wing" blogs but, they all refer to the CAC's own do ents -- the release of which was fought over tooth and nail -- to support the claim.
For six years, Obama ran an organization dedicated to improving schools. Spent millions upon millions of dollars; and? Nothing, nada, zilch.
According to CAC’s own report: “There were no statistically significant differences in student achievement between Annenberg schools and demographically similar non-Annenberg schools. This indicates that there was no Annenberg effect on achievement.” It also indicates that Annenberg failed, not because it’s altogether impossible to improve urban schools, but because CAC’s heavily politicized community-organizer partners weren’t any good at doing so.
Nevermind it tied Obama more closely to Ayers. Nevermind that much of the $100 million dollars dedicated to the CAC went toward radical socialist programs having little to do with education. The fact remains, Obama headed an organization formed to improve Chicago schools, it spent millions of dollars, and it failed miserably. After 6 years, schools were worse.
Don't argue with me or the blogs. Argue with the CAC.
