I think we've really been overachieving all year, and now with Young and Hamilton out it makes it that much harder for us. The fact is we aren't the Yankees with proven talent across the board these guys are young and still learning and we're not good enough yet to just steamroll over these "bad" teams at will. Its time to look torward next season. atleast now they have a little experience in what its like to be in a pennant race
Well we got help today. Both the Angels and Red Sox have lost. So it is up to us to take care of business.
! Only 2 games up on Texas now? . What's sad is that if Texas played these below .500 teams like they played all the top dogs in the AL, they would be ahead of Boston in the standings. Boston has been up and down. Texas is hanging around. The race is getting tighter. The division is lost for the Red Sox. It is wildcard or go home time now.
I will say it would be insane if Boston didn't make the playoffs. Texas has a good shot, though. Their schedule looks good. But in your favor, Texas actually has a chance still to win the division. They've owned the Angels all year, and still have 6 games left against them. This season will end very interesting.

I'm thinking you are stopping at the end of September...look at October 1st.
Sweep the DH and at worst we would be 1.5GB of the Sox. Unfortunately the Sox of the O's coming to town and they know how to take care of the weaker teams.
Actually, worst case with a DH sweep is 2 games back. We are 2.5 back right now. We need to take care of business today.
