it closed cuz it sucked balls.
Unfortunately, I am in So. Cal. and we don't have these spots out here. I will def. have to check these places out next time I come out.
Best chain burger is Culver's on De Zavala rd. That ButterBurger is the .
Chesters is OK, but I'd take In N Out over it. Whataburger doesn't compare at all to In N Out... Carl's Jr would be a better comparison. Chris Madrids curbstomps them all.
Biff Buzby's (is that the right spelling/name?) off of Toepperwein @ IH 35N - wonderful, the bun tastes great on it's own...LOL; Longhorn Cafe - great. Both places with many choices. Chris Madrids - greasy, messy but tastes good; for a good tasting fast burger - Freddies.
Those are my SA choices - for now.
I'd have to go with In and Out, if there was one in SA, but the one in Vegas isn't bad...locally, Longhorn Care, but it's no bison burger...
Where do you get buffalo burgers? I have always wanted to try one.
it's obviously too subjective...
what makes a good burger to you?
i like mus , pickles, lettuce, meat, cheese, bacon all on a toasted bun.
whataburger is great for this in SA!
To me a good burger is something simple, seasoned with pepper, garlic, and salt, with a grip of cheddar, swiss, or provolone on top, and possibly bacon.
I tried Carl's jr a few weeks back.![]()
in and out. only bad thing about it is its so close to me i could have that too many times, but the long lines do stop me from doing that amazing stuff daily
Burger King is good
Biff Buzby's is really good. Also, there's a place up 281 called My Place. It's on the right heading north, before you get to Bulverde. Great burgers and fries. And then the usual suspects, Longhorn, Bigz, etc.
Chris Madrid's is ok - not worth the drive over there, though.
Best burger is at the NIx hospital cafeteria on the sith floor
The best hamburger place i've eaten is Nation's giant hamburgers. Best around the bay area in Cali. Hamburgers are huge and delicious. They are also famous for their pies. Love their chocolate cream pie.
alamo springs cafe
it was featured on the cover of texas monthly. i highly recommend the jalapeno cheese bun.
Madrid's, Papa's burger in Houston off of Westheimer is fantastic.Carl's Jr 6 dollar western bacon is one of the best ever. I've yet to find a place to top these burgers.
I think Chester's is still better than the likes of Whataburger, etc. But you are right about Bobby J's - that place is awesome. (Fatburger is pretty good too.)
I never thought In-N-Out was a big deal...if you could even get one. The one in Mission Viejo, CA always has a line backed up on the street.
What's the deal with Smash Burger? I know there's one already open in town and they're putting one in Bandera Point, although I'm not exactly sure where or when.
What would the Hamburglar say?

Now that McD's has the Angus...they are tops once again.
There's a place in Nortern Yellowstone...it is much less fatty than beef, which I can hardly stomach anymore, but a bit fattier than elk, which is what I eat all the time...and venison...
Bigz's/GBG/The Cove/Longhorn are the best for me in SA.
But really, it all just depends on how you like your burger prepared.
