SC will lose to a team worse than Ohio St. That's their lot in life.
I don't necessarily hate USC. But, obviously I don't like them. And, I think Pete Carroll is a smug ass. But, it's pretty much just like hating on the Yankees or Red Sox or Lakers or Patriots. You hate the teams that are good. There's no reason to hate on teams that suck. Pretty simply fan ideology. Plus, like fans of the Yankees and Red Sox and Lakers especially, USC fans can be very obnoxious, so it's fun when they have to eat crow. Then again, fans of most good teams tend to get obnoxious.
I see you're point on all accounts after hearing you out. I do think almost all college fans are obnoxious, though. A bunch of 20 year olds who can't hold liquor.
Say if they didnt play in the regular season and this was the national championship...who would you rather see win? Who do you hate more?

That said, OSU is getting raped in this game.
Good question. 99% of the time, I root against OSU.
But, there is the rare instance when it's really good for the Big Ten perception that I might root for them. The Big Ten gets bashed a lot in recent years and OSU sucking in BCS games hasn't helped. I actually did root for them against Florida in 2006/07.
It really does depend though. Probably USC since I really can't root for OSU and it takes extreme situations for me to do so. So, a few variables could change that.
I'm not expecting much of a game. OSU's lines looked bad week 1 (especially the OL, although a few breakdowns were offset by Pryor's elusiveness/Navy's lack of size/speed), their defense looked kinda slow, and their playcalling is still too vanilla/conservative for my tastes, defensively and offensively.
That its a night game at the Shoe isn't that big a deal either. USC is always ready to play, and we saw the Naval Academy, with vastly inferior athletes to USC, play OSU tough in the shoe for 4 quarters. Some will say it was their gimmick 3x option offense that made life difficult, but that wouldn't explain OSU's terrible O-Line play!
I expect that Barkley won't be put in any tough situations and USC's vastly superior speed coaching and talent will offset the fact that their freshman QB is in a tough atmosphere against a top 10 team.

i'm not going to get all crazy after one game...ohio state has a way of winning ugly. it could be close, it could be far, but i expect USC to win.
which qb will throw the most picks? I say pryor. But OSU will still win.
