What do you guys know about Chris Lieck?
I know he has an amazing mullet.
he looks like a thinner vinnie paul
Me either. And I was not impressed by the website.
A friend of mine who has a band is looking for a producer and found this guy.
So I wanted to ask around about him.
So you are listening to secular music huh? That is how it starts.
Angel, check this guy out:
Lloyd Maines
He is producing a large number of Texas musicians, that I've been hearing on XM X country station.![]()

I do listen to some secular music- mostly country and oldies.
But the band my friend has is a Christian rock band.
I got an error message saying that the page was not found.
Chris is a Grammy Nominated producer. Has written a book on starting a record label. Very knowledgeable about the business. Very cool guy as well. Why do you ask? You doing business with him?
My friend who has a Christian rock band and who wants to record is in contact with him. That is the extent of my knowledge so far.
I had never heard of Chris Lieck and so was curious who he was. I wanted to be better informed when my friend calls me back.
Do you know him personally or professionally or both?
Thanks very much!![]()
LOL I was waiting for you to post. Chris has used your studio hasnt he?![]()
lol...90210 was the first person that came to my mind too.
lol..can't help it if I know about the industry. Someone asked for help, no one had said much yet, so I figured I'd help her out. And Chris is a producer, not an artist, so he'd have no need to use my studio.![]()
Don't know him personally, though I have worked with a couple of people who do. Supposedly, he's a cool guy, though I couldn't give you a recommendation, because I don't know him. I do know he's a damn good producer, and if your friend gets a deal with him, it'll probably be one of the best moves he makes in his music career.
I am su ious of this Chris guy because he told my friend that in order to get signed he needed to first make a ten song cd because no one accepts demos anymore.
That is contrary to what l learned when I researched press packets on the Internet and so what Chris is saying is a red flag to me.
Am I wrong?
I am trying to find out if and how much this producer is wanting to charge my friend to make this ten song CD. Hopefully I will today.
My husband talked to our friend last, so all I know is what our friend told my husband.
that does sound weird. just make sure you friend is with BMI and get publishing rights for his tunes if he writes them.
Will do. Thank you!
I am going to talk to my friend about sending in his demo to another music executive and see what that guy thinks.
My friend is a great person and is a very gifted lyricist. But he is too trusting and I worry about him getting taking advantage of.
It's quite possible that he's just wanting to get more money out of him. He is a good producer, but at the same time, these guys are out to make a buck, just like anyone else. I will say that I have heard from some record companies that they don't take demos as well, so take that for what it's worth. But at the same time, the only connection you will have to be in contact with these record companies is a middle man, and you're kind of at their mercy, so you need to go with your gut. If your friend has a bad feeling about the guy, tell him don't do it. He has a good reputation and everything, but you never know.
He looks like a slime ball, that I'm sure will end up in my court room.
Ever heard Iron & Wine? They're/He's amazing.

z0sa is a music industry idiot savant, he can prove through quantum physics & wikipedia that rap isn't music.
