...post but, if it'll keep me from getting flamed for posting a non-political thread in here, I'll make a political statement about the video.

This would not be possible without capitalism and Obama's socialist ideals will quash the entrepreneurial spirit right out of America if he's allowed to succeed.

There! Now, watch this cool video. It's a single take but, it reportedly took them 2 days and forty tries to get it right. I'm impressed.

"But in both its content and its timing the ad could scarcely be more inappropriate. At the beginning of July Diageo announced that it was closing its bottling plant in Kilmarnock, ending an association of 189 years, with the loss of 700 jobs."

    http://news.stv.tv/scotland/west-cen...nock-millions/

Gotta love the entrepreneurial spirit of mega-corps chasing dollars no matter what the human/environmental costs.

Sure looks like there's an opportunity available in Kilmarnock, eh?

Maybe it's derivative, maybe not. I happen to think it's a form of sneakiness. Using ellipsis makes the reader responsible for the inferences Yoni himself wishes to make. He builds in plausible deniability by refusing to finish his own sentences.

Yeah, because we all know Yoni thinks for himself and doesn't copy and paste things and try to pass it off as his own thoughts.

Nice try trying to defend your little buddy though. Very nice gesture.

I actually don't think I got the use of ellipses from Drudge but, to be honest, I don't know where I picked up the practice.

    It suits me.

What's funny is that I really meant for this to be an apolitical thread about the video. I merely thought if I threw in a hyperbolic political statement, I could avoid the "not a political post you moron," post.

I guess I'm a lightening rod for criticism. Or, some of you just can't help but flame my postings. And, it may warranted, , I don't know. But, I still like the video. It's a good piece of work. I don't even know if Johnnie Walker is a good scotch or a good company. And, I don't care.

you know, for all of the "socialist" rants we get from people it would be nice to just once see how it is that the current administration is really "socialist" in respect to its economic and foreign policies.

I use lots of ellipses myself.

I must say, better than the "cavuto".

I agree. I don't think liberals understand that we conservative wish to maintain the ability of people to start small businesses, and be allowed to have it all, if they can succeed. And that liberal policies hamper such possibilities.

    That is a cool commercial.

If you have not tried Blue Label; raise $200, buy a bottle, and try it.

    Unbelievable.

Socialism being government, or public, ownership of the means of production?

    Investment and ownership in GM.
    Bank bailouts, with equity stakes.
Wanting to set up (another) Government owned and run Insurance Company.

are three examples off the top of my head.

    Socialist foreign policy?

Don't know that I can define what that would look like.

Never had that expensive of an itch to try it. Don't get me wrong. I'll part with $200 bux in a heartbeat for the right reason. Just a few days ago, I bough a box of 14 bears from Friedlander's Jewelers for their charitable drive for St. Judes. That set me back more than $280.

Charity is one thing. I don't think I need to drink that much.

But, from watching the commercial, they seem to specialize in blended scotch. I'm a cheap scotch drinker, usually something like Pinch. But, I can't imagine a blended scotch -- even if a single malt and even if it offers consistency from bottle to bottle (as they proudly claim) could be any better than a single malt scotch that, too, is consistent from bottle to bottle but has its own iden y.

Did that make sense at all?

One of these days, I'm going to splurge on an expensive bottle of single malt scotch. Just to see if it really is better than a $35.00 bottle of Pinch.

$60.00 at Costco for an 18 year old bottle. Worth it?
