    Yes it was overrated. It was very cool, but it wasn't even a dunk. He threw the ball in w/out even touching the rim. That was my 2nd favorite performance( the whole contest, not just that one dunk) by someone in the dunk contest behind VC of course.

    As stated numerous times... he really didn't dunk it... Nevertheless, he had almost no angle from where he threw it in (and in that sense it was probably harder)... plus it didn't hurt that he suceeded on his only attempt...

    It was still pretty impressive...

    That was amazing. For a man his size, how far and high he jumped while catching the lob to be able to throw it down that hard? That was awesome.

    I think the slam dunk contest in general is overrated. There can't be that many variations on a dunk.

    It's about atmosphere, presentation, etc... Not just the dunk itself, home cooking helps too as with MJ in his epic duel with the human highlight film.

    Um, Jason Richardson in 2003 and 2004 didn't deserve 50s? Some of those dunks were more ridiculous and eye popping than Vince's.
