Let's do the math here.
25 year Shaq + Kobe + Phil Jackson = 3 peat, Shaq leaves because of ego problems
25 year Shaq + LeBron + Mike Brown = Shaq leaves after the first game because of ego problems.
the OP is sayin Kobe failed at being #1 all time. in other news sky is blue
but thanks for reminding some fans of the fact that Shaq + Duncan are ahead of Kobe all time
Let's do the math here.
25 year Shaq + Kobe + Phil Jackson = 3 peat, Shaq leaves because of ego problems
25 year Shaq + LeBron + Mike Brown = Shaq leaves after the first game because of ego problems.
Odom did indeed rub the Heat's nose in some deep .
tee, hee.
Wrong. Shaq and Phil leave because Kobe was a snitch and egomaniac who ruined the 2004 Lakers and broke the team up. Phil wrote a book soon after calling Kobe "Uncoachable".
Fast forward a few years, Phil comes back to coach the Lakers because
1) Jenny Buss is his wife
2) They gave him 10 mil a year
& Phil apologized to Kobe. Ipso facto Kobe signed off on Jackson's return.
EZ PZ, JapaneeZ!
-suckin Dr.houses !!The Dr returns in triumphant splendor!
No, no, hater, Luva caught you humps unawares, tip toein' thru the tulips and he dealt ya a grand one. Go ahead, bigshot, find 'em & lodge 'em.
He got all the bigshots but good. Their silence, oh, it's deafening.- suckin lakerkuva's !!Luva caught ya dead to rights. Give credit where it is due.
Luva with the goodsPERIOD
It's a Lakerfans bukkake up in ST delivered by the man on his knee's Colburn!!
Try it when you've won the last game you've played. It's like shaved trim.
tee, hee.
Wrong. Shaq was shipped out because his ego couldn't handle Kobe's growing super s om. When he called Dr. Buss our in public demanding more money, his fate was sealed.
Jackson later explained how he chose to side with Shaq early on because Centers are more franchise players than guards. He alao apologized and acknowledged his mistake.
.... and Jenny Buss is NOT his wife.
Really, b/c the Lakers, Raptors, Pacers, Grizz, Kings, Knicks, Thunder, and Suns all won the last game they played. I'm sure not all of them are enjoying the "shaved trim."![]()
Don't be purposely obtuse. You know what I meant, but, you chose to act assholish.
Me being obtuse, eh? I guess I should be classy in the presence of someone like you.
Oh Well, The pot really likes to call the kettle black.............
Colburn is an expert on assholes. He knows all the different colors, sizes, and levels of pressure in which one is able to squeeze. He knows first hand.
Good one, sir
If I wanted to hear from someone like Culburn, I'd fart!
he cant fit his real screen name here but on other forums he's known as culburninganus!

Phil is Jeanie Buss husband, the Lakers needed a coach, and they gave him 10 mil a year. Of course he has to be on good terms with his star player on the team he is going to coach.
He will say whatever he has to say. What type of coach would he be if he says "Yeah, I really thought Kobe is uncoachable, I don't regret siding with Shaq instead of Kobe, and Kobe's gonna have to deal with it. Too bad so sad. Let's go win some games!"
Kinda sad he tries to start w/ everyone who has a problem w/ the Lakers(I used to do the same w/ the Hornets but learned to pick my battles).
Not only that, but he tries to be a smartass to someone like me who never rags on the lakers, which makes me a rarity in that category. I think the only time I did was when Laker fans were saying their current team could beat the 1996 Bulls![]()
You should see him and lakaluva play the tag team game. Since lakaluva is not here currently we don't get the pleasure of hearing a colburn response. He has to wait for his bf for back up.
...and her name's not Jenny, it's Jeanie.
I have no intention of relenting as you did, 1.
tee, hee.
i guess shaq wanting 35 million a yr didnt make a difference right?
That's it, Ft. Pitt.
If MJ were playing today, he would be putting up 40/game in the current environment.
I ask you: would Kobe be as dominant in the 80s and 90s Eastern Conference? Would he have taken the beatings night after night that Boston, Detroit and New York delievered and gotten back up for more? I don't think he would have and I think that goes towards his image as well.
With the exception of this year, I'm not sure Kobe's been a Leader to his team. MJ crapped on his teammates a la Kobe (anyone remember, "dont pass the ball to Bill Cartwright late in the game?") but he knew how to rally the troops and win. And fans responded to that - in a must win, you knew MJ would be there leading his team, taking the last show and accepting the accolades or the criticisms like a man. Is it ever Kobe's fault when they lose?
To this day I'm convinced that the 1992 Eastern Conference Semifinal series against the Knicks was when MJ became The Man. They waltzed through the regular season and the Heat in the first round and then got -slapped, at Chicago Stadium, in game 1 by the Knicks. He had that UNBELIEVABLE layup/dunk over Oakley and Ewing (sending them both to the floor along with Ho. Grant) in the Garden then, in a very un-MJ like way, got in their face and laid it down. And the thing with MJ was, when it was a Game 7, you KNEW he'd put up 40 and lead a route, which is what he did.
And then lets not forget Game 1 of the FInals: 39 points in 34 minutes, 6 of 10 from 3 ("three pointers from Jordan, what in the world is going on!?!"). Nothing I've seen from Kobe would ever lead me to believe he'd take on Ewing and Oakley in that situation, let alone get in Oakley's face at the start of Game 7 then make him his all game.
And that's it for me. MJ knew how to get the best from his support players and how to Lead them to victory. For Kobe, it's me first, me second, then maybe I'll look to pass, but wouldn't it be great if I could just pass it to myself? Plus he's a jerk and lacks MJ's charisma which speaks volumes as to why he's so disliked.
