How many czars did Bush have?

Not that I recall. But, I didn't about Clinton's either.

Nothing. It's pretty much the same as every president since Nixon.
The big difference is the blogs you read say they are somehow bad now since it's Obama who is appointing them.

Obama is putting these people in charge of policy and multi-billion dollar progams and they're unaccountable to anyone.

His lack of making appointments has grown into somewhat of a scandal in and of itself.

Obama has filled 231 of 501 appointed positions requiring Senate approval. That's less than 50%. I can't find where Bush was at the end of 8 months.

I thought czar was Newspeak for sub cabinet level appointments of various kinds.
Some of the jobs have been around for awhile; it's the le of "czar" that's new in most cases, rather than the post itself.
