The guy is far from overrated..he's an amazing musician...but he's too much of an asshole for me to care about him...and caring about the person is part of me caring about their music. I like Kanye's music..no doubt..dude's phenomenal..but his mouth s up his image..and like it or not..image is important. People aren't going to remember who won video of the year in a week..but they'll remember the asshat opening his ing piehole and spewing bull .

Technically, yes...but he's a good rapper also. But yes, a musician is technically someone who writes or performs music, and producers write music.
