I want one with a built-in DVD player. This is going in an upstairs office. Minimum size 26", max 32".

I don't know much about HDTV, I don't have HD T-W service yet, I just have regular digital service.

any recommendations? I suppose the ones with built-in DVD players would not be Blue-Ray? or they would?

I plan to change my netflix rentals to BR discs.

I also plan to later buy a bigger HDTV for my bedroom downstairs, with a separate BR player. But that won't be for a while.

I have a Vizio 32 inch 720p LCD HDTV and I like it. It's done a better job than the old tv that we had at the house.

I was just wondering if there are HDTVs with built-in players that play BR and regular DVDs (multi-format), or would I have to get a separate BR multi-format player?

And if there is such a thing, what are the good brands?

Most built-ins for that size tv are DVD only, not BR.

Values are so good in 32" 720p tvs these days, there's no reason to skimp on features and screen quality.

I'd go ahead and get this Samsung for $450 at Wal-Mart.

If you have a box, there's a fair chance it's already an HD box. If it says HDtv somewhere on the front, it is and all you need to do is buy an HDMI cable to hook it to your new tv. All the video and multichannel sound goes through that one cable, so it's very convenient. The Samsung has three HDMI ports; make sure anything you buy has at least two.

I saw those while browsing amazon.com. I like the idea.

I guess I'll get one with a built-in DVD only player. Get a separate BR machine and just watch B-R on my bigger HD TV downstairs when I get one later.
