    I have no idea how the topic went to that setup, and it was definitely a stupid ass conversation, but the guy did have a point.

    Except for the fact we live in a republic, not a democracy, so you don't need a majority of the populace to support something, only a majority of elected officials. Even with cons utional amendments, you only the support of people in state legislatures (which personally I think should be changed).

    Besides, he couldn't even keep it straight himself when he was talking about voting majority and demographic minority, which are apples and oranges, anyway. It was some pretty idiotic sounding rambling.
