So what do you guys think of Dos Santos as a threat in the HW division. yay or nay?
I think he's absolutely a threat. A couple more big wins and I would imagine he'll be in a le fight...

“Dos Santos is no joke. He hits hard, and he’s been knocking people out. [UFC 103] was a big night for him that definitely put him on the map now. He’s in the mix.”

    – UFC President Dana White marvels at the continued progress of Junior Dos Santos during last night’s UFC 103 post-fight presser.

He couldn't have a better guy to follow in Big Nog...

Isn't it the worst thing to say about a fighter that he he is a gatekeeper when he was a champion?

btw. so many voices say taht ufc should do a 195 division what is yor opinion on that?
Maybe they shoul put one more div?
    155/165/180/195/210 or 215
    155/170/185/200/215 or 220

Sure, being a gate keeper isn't a good thing really. I just don't think Rich was ever an elite fighter. I think he is really good, but he got a big push from the UFC after beating...

    Win Ken Shamrock
    Win Evan Tanner
    Win Nate Quarry
    Win David Loiseau

Really?? That quartet of fights made him a star. How did Quarry get a le shot? Loiseau was clearly over-rated. Love Tanner, but…not a top level guy in today’s MMA.

Then you have the pattern of losing to an elite fighter and getting 2 wins over solid guys that repeats a couple times. Belfort broke that pattern.

    Loss Anderson Silva
    Win Jason MacDonald
    Win Yushin Okami
    Loss Anderson Silva
    Win Travis Lutter
    Win Matt Hamill
    Loss Dan Henderson
    Win Wanderlei Silva
    Loss Vitor Belfort

Wanderlei is Rich’s biggest in IMO.

    Other notable fights…
    Loss Lyoto Machida (LHW)
    Win Jorge Rivera
    Win Edwin Dewees
    Win Evan Tanner

195 doesn't make any sense to me...

Splitting HW at 230 or 235 lbs makes sense.

Anyone else find it a bit absurd that Vitor comes back and beats franklin, then all of the sudden everyone is shouting for him to fight Anderson Silva? i mean really?

I couldnt even see it being much of a contest really.

Dana knows it would sell nicely...

If not Vitor, who at MW?

It's an interesting matchup between 2 top notch strikers. I think Silva's size and reach would be too much for Vitor...but I'm definitely interested to see it. Way more than Marquardt...or even Hendo really.

Grant it, i dont know Vitor all that well, but from what i do know, and then what i saw of him Saturday, i just cant see him being that much of a contest. Who knows, maybe im wrong. I would love to see someone knock him off (Silva), so give him a shot.

I still say Marquardt v Belfort then winner of that fight go after Silva or Henderson, whomever wins. Too soon to just throw him at the le after a fluke KO, or before even...i think they were trying to get him to talk about a silva matchup before the fight even started.

I don't know if it's good to slit the hw now. Who do you have in HW then?

Top fighters in Brock and Carwin then maybe a new Duffee (still we don't know how good he is)

Rest of the guys could easily make 235, So hw would not make much sense at least for a couple more years IMO

I want to see Silva vs Machida. Dana just needs to throw enough money at them to make it happen.

Why was that a "fluke KO?" If he had beat Rich with a gogoplata, it would've been a fluke. Vitor is a KO artist...it's what he does. Why is Marquardt more deserving? He already got embarrassed by Silva once. I know he's supposedly better now than he was 2 years ago, but I don't see how he's made up enough ground on Silva. I love me some Hendo and he's probably the toughest matchup for Silva right now, but I don't see him beating him...and I don't care to see him lose to him again.

Vitor over the last 3 yrs...

    Loss Dan Henderson
    Win Ivan Serati
    Win James Zikic
    Win Terry Martin
    Win Matt Lindland
    Win Rich Franklin

Lost a decision to Dan (no shame in that)...violent KO's of Martin and Lindland at MW, and now he TKO'd Rich at 195 lbs...

They can sell Vitor vs Silva, and he's a threat on the feet where the fight would stay. I like it.

I wouldn't say all of the sudden. People started talking about this a year ago and Vitor is worth the shot.

By fluke i mean glancing blow that just sorta found the right spot behind the ear. Not saying the dude isnt tough, just saying i think he needs one more UFC fight before he gets a le shot.
