The funny thing is that I am actually a Christian...but I am not going to post scriptures on here and expect others to accept it. Me trying to convince people that God exists is like me trying to convince people I turn into Wolverine when no one is around.

I would rather try to win people over and fail at it than to not try at all.

    But that is just me.

So Angel, I have a serious question. For how long do you have to accept Christ as your savior before death for it to be legit? I mean, don't criminals who kill people do this and still get forgiven at the 11th hour?

And does that make that convicted criminal more forgiveable than, say, someone in a tribe in Africa who has worked to support his family his entire life, without ever having been exposed to the Bible or teachings of Christ?

I'm not trying to attack semantics or anything, just wondering what your thoughts are as a Christian. Is something like this even open to interpretation?

The Bible teaches that if confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
    ( Romans 10:9-10)

The thief crucified along side Jesus made such a confession as they were dying and Jesus promised the thief that the theif would go to Paradise.
    ( Luke 23:38-34)

I believe that the instant you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, that you are saved.

And I believe the opporun y to do this is available to people so long their is life in their mortal body.

I also believe that there is no sin greater than any other.
The Bible teaches that the wages of sin is death. ( Romans 6:23)

It does not say that one sin is more of less heinous than other. It says that the wages of sin ( all sin) is death.

The rest of the verse ( Romans 6:23) says that the gift of God is eternal life.
Again, their is not limit on who this gift is available to.

I believe that ANYONE who desires to be saved will be saved, if they put their trust in Jesus.

John 3:16- For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son that WHOEVER believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

I hope this answers your question.

Thanks! Yes it answers a lot of my questions that I didn't understand about salvation. The one that remains is what happens to those who for whatever reason (oppressive government, remote regions of the world) cannot or never know of Christ? Are they just out of luck?

I'm pretty sure large portions of the Bible were written by Europeans, etc. in medieval times to preserve the idea of the "Holy King." But that's just my opinion.
We are in agreement I think. Religion was been used to control people. The King James version of the Bible is no exception. Later English versions deviate very little in fear of being too different from historical accepted thoughts. I wish more people of Christian faith would learn more of the Bible in it's Hebrew, Chaldean, and Greek form.

There is nothing in conflict between the Bible in it's original form, and science!

Angel, have you ever studied parts of the Torah in Hebrew and Chaldean? Most Christians are locked into the teachings of false profits. Hope you aren't one of them.

I think it would be hard to agree totally with me as I don't really know what to think yet anyway. All I know is my grandparents would be upset if they saw me challenging or exploring things like this and would make me pray to the rosary every night if I lived with them.

I don't believe as Angel does. She offers one path. I believe the key is to be pure at heart. Something very difficult for any of us to achieve. At the moment, if you accept Christ, at that point, you are pure. Only for those moments, because even with Christians, they don't maintain that purity.

The English version of the Bible is contradictory. "I am the only God," yet in Genesis 6, "The sons of God found the daughters of man to be beautiful and took them as wives..."

I think that it's ironic that they used Albert Einstein. He bashed organized religion as much as he praised it.

I believe that Jesus speaks to every heart throughout the course of every person's life. I believe that God makes sure that every person has opportunity to be saved.

Believing in the Bible does require faith and as such, I do not have answers for everything. But I know that Jesus loves you ( and everybody) and you can be certain He will always lead you in the right direction and in a way that you will know it is Him.

I have followed Jesus since childhood and so speak from my wonderful experience.

I learned to avoid defending religion or convincing others to save their souls. To many Christians make God and themselves look bad. They come across like they are better than you while engaging in some of the same daily activities as the sinners they talk down too.

I also don't like when a Christian goes on a game show like Big brother or Amazing race and keep saying like "I don't worry! God will help me win!"

I hate when a wife of a lost mountain climber tells the media her husband is ok because God is watching over him. If God was really watching over him he would have kept his ass off the mountain in the first place.

I don't think the earth is billions of years old and I don't think the Bible is really 100% accurate, I do feel there may be some outside force responsible for us being here. If there is a God I don't blame him for letting all this happen. After all he did his part by putting us here with water air and food its our dumb ass fault for ing everything up.

If their is a God and he was to get involve in our lives where does he draw the line? why would he let a 11 year old girl die from Cancer and a small child get killed by a rapist and yet stop what he is doing to help some guy find his lost dog?

The problem with people they want everything to go smooth, if not then there is no God.
personally I don't give a rats ass if you pray to Satan or you sleep in John 3:16 PJs at night. Just don't tell me what should or should not be said in school, take out God and take out evolution let the kids find that out on there own. If not then allow both but don't be so one sided on every issue.

Lets say there is a God!
You really think with all the bull God allows to happen on a daily basis he is just going to say "I know I made a promise I wouldn't get involve in all that happens on the earth but Janet on the Amazing race is lost,She needs me, I better help her or she may get eliminated form the game. Oh and by the way Angel_luv just sent me another prayer request, I better stop what I am doing and go help Back2Basics with his camper deal!

I will only say what I do know for sure and you can take this as a religious experience or a science phenomenon, but I know for a fact we all have a spirit inside us I found out one night the hard way. true story if you ever want to know.......so keep that in mind when your telling God to off each day.

Could there be some outer worldly power. Yes its possible. Can't discount a possibility of that.

I don't give an ounce of credibility to god/jesus/organized religion as society understands it. Too much of this fantasy is wrapped up and shaped around fiction. It spends more time contradicting itself than it does agreeing. Then of course the lack of proof vs. faith. Proof trumps 99.9% of this world in all aspects of life. For most people the lack of proof partnered with all the hippocratic preaching is enough to say "yeah this is all a load of horse ".

With the exception being, surprise...faith. Faith trumps proof, always will, no matter whats on the table.

The argument will likely endure for all existence.
