and no, I'm not talking about the one for super nintendo. the one that was only released in japan at first, for the NES. you should get a GBA for this game alone. the story line is dark and fantastic. the level-up system is different but unique and fun. music is great.

if you are an old school RPG fan, you should definitely try this one out.

4, 5, and 6 used to be my favorites.

but 2 is now my favorite. get it on the GBA, since apparently graphics and music is what you are looking for. the music is fantastic. but personally, I mostly look for the story, and the story was definitely the best (even ahead of 4 and 6, both of which had great stories). none of the other ones had as dark of a feel to the game. this one felt very dark and gloomy, and the music complimented it well. the gameplay was awesome too with the different system.

My top 3 are Chrono Trigger (SNES), Oblivion, and FF4. I've never played FF2 though; I'll have to check it out.

Think about the companies losing money when you use emulators. Stop it.

keep ing over your favorite developers and hurting gamers, no ones stopping you.

and as for me, ff2/3 weren't released in the USA til a couple years ago, I couldn't buy them when I emulated them. Additionally, you can never rebuy old SNES/NES in their proper format. I don't want updated gfx, dialogue or any of that, I want the original deal

I probably should have rephrased it. Storyline, I think it was the best out of any RPG I've played or heard of. And the game really carried it out well, keeping a very dark and gloomy tone, as opposed to other games that despite a dark storyline (FF4 and FF6) the mood stayed light and upbeat.

I do agree with z0sa though, about how the translations kinda change a bit. The GBA versions are quite close, but yeah, the original translations straight from japan are always the best (you can only get them if you download the roms). I just like the GBA because it has the additional sidequests for all the games, making them last longer and have a new challenge. My main two things for an RPG that I look for... storyline, and amount of strategy required. That's the biggest reason why FF6 isn't my favorite, because there isn't a lot of strategy. You just teach everyone all the spells, equip them with exp eggs, and fight tyrannosaurs for a few hours, then suddenly you have an unstoppable army. It's wayyyyyyyyyyy too easy. That's why I love FF5 so much, because it takes a looooong time to level up, and even if you learn all the job abilities, some bosses are still a total pain in the ass (ESPECIALLY in the GBA version, with the new dungeons).

And you couldn't shed a couple hundred bucks for a Japan system and game cartridge? You are a horrible human being.

    deflection doesn't change anything, kid.

second, you must seriously be re ed. you download new games before they're out, screwing over developers; I downloaded decade old games the developers have made 100% of their money from.

Third, I was a preteen and you were even younger. You really think i, or god ing bless my parents had money to get some imported console only for imported games I can't even understand? Could you have pulled it off? Not a in chance.

Fourth, you're doing the opposite of shedding cash. Why the double standard?

How long have you been waiting for a moment to jab me on the issue, since you made no such responses in the relevant threads?
