it's not a great place to find a job these days, most of the students stay. i liked it a lot more 5-10 years ago before SXSW and ACL exploded and brought even more hipsters in. luckily i live in north austin and not south austin anymore.
I've never been there, ain't planning on going either. Just wondering since this article pegs Austin as the 5th most sought out place by yuppies in their 20s lookin to move. But I've heard how flaming it is.

Where could one even get the ratio of gays to straights?? I agree with lee though, tooo many hipster dbags lately. I live north west and get to avoid it somewhat.
still easily remains the best city in Texas.

well, it just seems like a lot of the hipsters who are "keeping Austin weird" and who rant and rave about soco and the like just moved here the last couple of years.
ill definitely agree with that.....it's a great city, can you blame them?

I lived in Austin (north) about 8 years ago and loved it. I rarely visit now...just went up there last week and it pretty much looks the same as when i left, although we just went to Stubbs and then came back to SA. I think Austin always had its fair share of Dbags who thought living in Austin automatically gave them a pass or something...nothing new about that.
