Yanks have tons of players who are playoff stiffs. Plus they have the 2004 Boston curse to deal with. It wouldn't shock me to see the Tigers winning this series.
Terribly flawed team, I (we) know. Probably out in the first round ( ing Yankees), but nevertheless they'll win their division.
Thoughts?

People gave the Yanks the edge in the series Detroit played against them during their run to the World Series a few years ago. You just never know. Go Tigers!
I hope the Tigers can knock their asses out. The Tigers can match up pitching wise though with Verlander, Porcello, and Jackson.![]()
I'd take the Tigers in 4.
The Yankees key players are horrible postseason players and would have to miraculously change course or precedent for them to be considered a threat in the post season.
IMO, Red Sox Tigers for the ALCS crown.
Remember when the Yankees were supposed to run train on the Tigers a few years ago?
It'd be sick to see that whole thing happen again.
Yeah, I'm down for a repeat of 2006![]()

Would be cool but unlikely. It was a perfect storm in 2006. Kenny Rogers was unhittable, as was Jeremy Bonderman. While the pitching match-ups would be fairly even, the only starter I'd really be confident could hold down that line-up is Verlander. Edwin Jackson has been pretty hittable lately and Porcello is solid but probably would still give up 4-5 runs, meaning he'd have to rely on the Tigers offense which is anything but consistent.
Plus, the Tigers still have to get there first. They still have to avoid a pretty dangerous collapse and if the Twins sweep the Royals, the Tigers need to win 2 of 3 against the White Sox, who would love to spoil things for the Tigers.
Again your assuming the chokers lined through out the lineup of the yankees hit...
I haven't been sold on the Yanks all season. They have done this numerous times over the years where they have the best record in baseball only to lose in the first round or alcs. I am pulling for the Tigers or Twins to keep Bostons 2004 curse on New York alive.
P.S: Boston isn't doing jack either.
I'm pulling heavy for a Tigers Angels ALCS. That would be ing hilarious. Fox would seriously jump off a cliff if that happened, nobody would watch thatthe Sox and Yanks.
Isnt your team collapsing before your very eyes?![]()
I think the Tigers will win 2 out of 3 with the White Sox this weekend, and the Twins will probably lose the game Greinke pitches in...
Nah, they have a playoff spot clinched and they're playing the Phillies or Cardinals whether they win the division or WC so it really makes no difference. Besides, what does that have anything to do with me rooting against the Sox and Yanks?
Well, most of you are far more optimistic than me.
Tigers offense is atrocious (see yesterday's game as Exhibit 102) where the Yanks are anything but (playoff past performances notwithstanding).
The Cards win the Series...again......*sigh*
I'm not very optimistic about my Sox.. If they make it out of the first round, I don't think they'll make it out of the second.
From your keyboard to god's ears.
I hope the Cardinals get swept in the first round.
I don't care how well the Tigers are playing, no matter if Verlander and Jackson are absolutely unhittable, no matter if Miggy, Maggs, Guillen, Polanco, and Granderson all get hot with the bat, no matter if the ghost of Ty Cobb gives them some kind of supernatural advantage, if they somehow miraculously make it to the World Series, the Cardinals will still beat them.
I'd rather face a team with both the Dodgers' and the Phillies' rosters combined.
:-(
I would rather the rockies beat the yankees in the world series
that way the rockies and dbacks both would have beat them in the big dance
Well apparently it does not matter. The Tigers don't want to go to the playoffs. Looks like the Twins do.
twins are trying to blow their big lead
The Rockies's big problem is their hitting is poor in the clutch.
Their starting pitching is hit or miss.
Their bully though is damn good.
Their big problem is they lack that centerpiece bat ala Matt Holliday.
We shall see..
shall see
cards have no bats after holliday
closeer for cards has struggled lately
dodgers pitching is not the best
philies bullpen is now a questionmark
yankees bats are not clutch in postseason
there is not one perfect team this year
all have atleast one weakness
This postseason is gonna be a damn good one![]()
