Edwards can't catch and is a bad egg they probably gave him away.

yeah. What a great deal for the Browns. They get 2 picks, a solid WR and another warm body for a guy who: 1)can't catch, 2)is a cancer, 3) is lazy, 4) fights with the King, 5)was leaving at the end of the season anyway.

    Great move.

You know you own a city when an athlete gets in a fight with your friend and is traded less than a week later.

an athlete that plays for a team in a totally different sport than he plays. It's like both the Browns and Indians know the ramifications of losing Lebron in 2010 and even if it costs them talent, they do it for the good of the city.

That being said, I think the Browns are the winners in this deal. Braylon was leaving next year and was a troublemaker who couldn't catch. The Browns managed to turn that into 2 players and 2 picks.

I agree the Browns are winners, it's not like prior to this incident Braylon Edwards had been giving them great, consistent production.

Wonder what two picks they were. B Edwards drops alot of balls to give up two picks until they're like, a 3rd and 6th.

Jets couldn't tamper with Crabtree anymore so they got the next available WR.

Well, LB only owns the city of Cleveland for 1 more season. Then he's off to own NYC.

WTF are you talking about, it's a great move. He gave away nothing- a crappy receiver, a special-teams player and two mediocre draft picks- for a guy who caught 16 touchdown passes two years ago and will probably produce like that again in the right environment.

The Browns got bent over sideways. But hey, Mangini sent a real message here. Screw around and we'll send you out of this Siberia to a contender in the greatest city on earth. That'll show him!

Now Massaquoi gets all the double-coverage. My over/under on how fast the Buckeye homers/SEC haters in the fanbase turn on him: one year.

I agree. Idk why Rex was so animated about getting this guy. He is part of the reason Anderson lost his starting job to begin with. He reminds me of Travis Taylor with the way he drops passes. The only difference I see between him and Taylor is Edwards runs better routes.

Rex Ryan? Tennenbaum makes the moves, first gets an ok from the Owner then asks the coach, but it probably still happens if the coach no's it.

This was a decent risk reward trade for NY IMO. They weren't gonna win with the offense they had, and if Edwards comes in with the right at ude and fixes his dropped passes problem, it gives the Jets something their offense was sorely missing. This Braylon Edwards we're talking about so there is risk involved, but IMO he's a top 5 receiver as far as raw talent goes.

Wouldn't you want to get the coach's input since he is the one around the players? (not counting Jerry Jones, Dan Snyder, or Al Davis or course... lol)

Braylon will always drop his share of passes. But when he's on, he'll make a lot of great ones too.

I just think things kind of snowballed on him here in Cleveland. This is simply a bad situation all around.

I also think there's a fairly large subset of the fanbase that was going to hate on him no matter how well or poorly he produced. People were hating on him two years ago when he broke every significant franchise single-season receiving record.

He needed a fresh start and he gets it. He'll do well in New York IMO.

I agree with you that he did needed a fresh start and someone who can get him the ball.

I am just not sold on Mark Sanchez yet especially after he got lit up last week in New Orleans. I wouldnt be surprised if last weeks game messed with his head and he keeps throwing pics. B Edwards will be fine and maybe not get to his performance two seasons ago but he will improve signficantly in New Jersey!

I think Sanchez will be okay. But against the better D's Schottenheimer needs to put a leash on Sanchez sorta how Cameron did with Flacco last year.

Sanchez will be fine. The Dome is a tough place to play for any visitor, and every rookie has a bad game from time to time. Peyton had a 39.3 rating in his third career game and he turned out okay.

Of course the coach has some say in it, but not much.

It's a good pickup for the Jets. When he's on he is one of the better play makers in the league. If he does turn out to be a in the locker room, they can just cut ties with him at the end of the season.

If Braylon can't break out with Brady Quinn throwing to him, it's hard to imagine he will be in the league much longer now that he has Mark Sanchez throwing to him

Man, it's been a long time since chiming in here, but back and ready to attack.

The Jets were looking to get a proven vet to replace Coles after he left for Cincy. Now the Jes have two legit WR's which will allow guys like Dustin Keller to flourish.

I think it's a good move by both teams. Cleveland rids themselves of a pain in the ass, and the Jets, under Ryan, won't go for that crap, and get themselves a player who, mind you, is right now more known for his drops, but has also shown in the past he can be a go to receiver.

What they gave was already to much for that bum.
