It's likely because there is a trade in the works with him. Spurs shouldn't have been sold at all by what they saw from him in the first two preseason games.

I agree, we all knew that the Spurs would never really pay the luxury tax. Manu, Bonner, and Finley will all be gone by the end of the week for second round picks and trade exceptions.

When Barry was almost traded to Hornets in 06, they traveled without him.
The trade should be damn close.
And it sounds damn logical. Al the dots connect. For example, Pop tried to raise Manu trade value by saying he was awesome in practices while games showed us that he was nowhere near 100%.

Straight salary dump; probably a trade to the Lakers for two future 2nds, and Josh Powell.
Well hes not resting, hes in SA working out. To me that is better than him sitting on the bench and just watching.

I think Manu stayed to get on the gym to stay get back in shape. All that traveling and low minutes on that game wouldn't have helped.
