Mark Cuban/Michael Irvin - "I'm not really worried about the Spurs"

On my way back from lunch I was listening to Mark Cuban talking about Marion and the new additions for the mavs on the Michael Irvin Show and they said they want to get better to keep pace with the Lakers and Nuggets but weren't worried about the Spurs.

Yeah,I kinda agree but you misrepresent the facts: The first time that they eliminated us....Manu actually eliminated us with the foul on Dirk after we came back from 15-17 points down in a game seven....Up until last year I thought we maintained ourselves pretty will during the regular season. Good old Marky Mark..... He does have a point though, from his perspective at least. They matchup well against us and have beaten us the last two times in the playoffs.

Minor details like Manu being out and Timmy being hobbled have never confronted our boy Cubes though.

I agree with you to a point in that Cuban is looking ahead to the Nuggets and the Lakers and is probably just trying to get a rise from Spurs fans, but just because the Mavs knocked out the Spurs doesn't mean not to worry about them and the offseason moves they made. That'd mean that the Magic don't need to worry about the Celtics or the Cavs.

It'd be different if the Spurs didn't make any offseason moves, but the Spurs have addressed the one major weakness that the Mavs exposed in that we had no one to score outside of Parker and Duncan.

If Cuban truly believes this he is an idiot, but he's most likely being an idiot so it doesn't really matter.

the mavs didnt improve that much i still believe marion best days are behind him and gooden is just a offensive threat but hasnt gave spurs problems in past when he plays against us

this spurs team is about 5 times bettter than last years spurs on paper and the spurs pretty much would of won game 1 and 4 if they had that 3rd scorer for those games now we have a couple different scorers and our players will be better, and we addressed our rebounding problems that killed us in the playoffs
