I assure you that Ben will get Peyton/Brady status in a year or two (if not sooner)

In your mind he already has......he's nowhere near the level they are and never will be.

Oh when does spurfan turn into a stats guy?

  3. #53
And you base that on what? stats don't help you to make that claim.

You're basing your entire argument on stats from 6 games when 4 of those games were against atrocious defenses, and when the two games against good/average defenses, his performance was pedestrian at best.

    Fat Ben Career:
    0 MVP
    2 super bowls
    0 super bowl MVP's
    1 pro bowl
0 first team all pro appearances
    63% completion, 213.6 YPG, 1.4 TD's per game, .96 INT's per game

    Brady Career:
    1 MVP
    3 super bowls
    2 superbowl MVP's
    4 Pro bowls
1 First team all pro appearance
    63% completion, 235.5 YPG, 1.7 TD's per game, .74 INT's per game

Pretty in re ed to say Ben is anywhere near Brady status.

I'm not basing my argument on stats, nor I'm basing my argument on this season alone.

I think Ben is a top 5 QB because of the constant improvement he has made since he joined the league and the habilities he displays on the field, he's one of the strongest and most mobile QBs, already one of the most accurate (IMO the most important atribute in a QB) and like it or not the guy is a winner.

    Who the said that?

    the guy is a winner.

Winners complete more than 9 passes when they make the superbowl.

You basically said he's near Brady status, no?

Do you think he would have any SB's if he was given the Colts' D instead of having near top of the league defenses every year?

  12. #62
No, I said he will get there in a year or two.
So you're saying in the next 1-2 years, he'll receive 2 super bowl MVPs, at least 1 more super bowl, an All-Pro NFL appearance, and 3 pro bowls appearances?

He's a winner. His awesomeness rubs off on his defense. If he were in Indy, the Colts D would have been better cause he's a "winner" who "improves a lot".

No, I don't. And I admit that he probably wouldn't be the player that he is now without the confidence of having won 2 superbowl rings. But arguing about that is pointless right now. He won what he won and he is what he is.

The same could be said about Brady and the Pats.

  15. #65
So basically Dilfer > Marino cause Dilfer's a "winner".

No, I said he will get Manning/Brady (superstar) status. That is, the perception of beign the best even if other guys have better stats.

Too bad there's absolutely no way to prove that.

    Wait and see.

Are you telling me that, if Ben plays two more seasons like he is playing right now and his team stays a contender (maybe even win a superbowl), is not probable that Rothlisberger will get that kind of status?

Yes I agree, if Ben gets to play the Lions or the Browns every week, he'll be the GOAT.

lol at the big ben haters. guy proved he was a winner in college and in the NFL. The final drive against the Cardinals, the immaculate tackle against the Colts, those are some special plays from a special player. His defense didn't bail him out in the latest SuperBowl, HE bailed out the defense.

As for his horrendous showing against the Seahawks, big deal. It was his 2nd year in the league and nobody said he was near Manning/Brees/Brady status anyway.

21/29, 233 yds, 3 tds, against the best defense in the league. DoK, are you happy now?
