Don't blame Shanahan for turning down the redskins, but I highly doubt it has anything to do with Wade Philips. No coach worth a damn wants to work for Jerry Jones.

but yeah, no coach in their right mind would take over in Washington until bug eye cerratto is either kicked to the curb or demoted to vp of racquetball operations.
snyder is an insecure power hungry money loveing asshole. i wouldn't want to work for him.
however, if the money was right and he offered control of player acquisition...then a top level headcoach would consider it.
they need a GM first and foremost. i like the idea of a Holmgren/Gruden combo, but i'm not holding my breath.

You're right, making the AFC championship with Jake "I like " Plummer at QB and turning Mike Anderson into an elite RB for a season is nothing.
