    Jeff McDonald: Pop was very high on Mahinmi today before the game. Says he's been holding his own in practice. Stopped short of saying whether or not they plan to extend him. They've got until Oc.t 31.

    Jeff McDonald: Even if the Spurs opt to extend Mahinmi, I don't see him being a rotation player this season unless someone gets hurt. Extending him basically just buys another season to evaluate him. If it doesn't work out, he's a pretty attractive trading chip (aka expiring contract) at this time next year
