No, deep implies you'd happily play the 10th guy decent minutes, and that is not the case. They are top heavy.

Let's say you lose Artest, your starting SF becomes Walton, a huge drop-off, especially defensively. You lose a frontcourt player and Odom needs to start, which means your bench is garbage (as demonstrated today) You lose a guard and Farmar, a guy playing for his NBA life, who has done nothing in 3 years, comes in. THAT is NOT "deep", that is TOP HEAVY.

You ers have a combined IQ of about 47...

Ahaha...lets go through this then..player by player

Kobe: Top 2 player in the NBA
Pau:Best 2nd option in the NBA
Bynum: ALl star this year most likely? Looks great so far
    LO:Beastin past 2 years...looks great...best 6th man in the league atm
Artest:Ex DPOY..still one of the best SF in the league
    Fisher:Steady influence...clutch shooter...good PG

There is your 6...here is the bench:

Brown:Who many scouts think is BETTER than Fisher...one of your 6...great energy...teams would love to have this guy

Farmar:Backup PG...go head and list the back PG's in the league...he is better than half of them...playing for his life...no doubt he will get a contract next year unless he pulls a Sasha of last year

Powell:Solid backup 4. Very nice touch. Good energy and a good rebounder. No post game. Very servicable...its just most people don't know it...he rarely sees minutes behind the trio. When he does get minutes he produces...remember last year? @ SA? Ring a bell?

Walton: Walton..while not athletic...doesn't mean he is a scrub. Name the backup SF in the league and he is right in the middle of the pack IMO. Very smart player. Tremendous experience. Not an NBA player?

That right there is 9 players.

Looks like the Lakers are TOP HEAVY....AND DEEPP......SCARY HUH?

I'm just breaking down your own pathetic self assurances for the masses. Fact is hardly any teams really use a 9 or 10 man rotation unless the last couple are only getting spot minutes here or there. You should know that with your vast experience in basketball

Face it you went up and down how the Lakers weren't gonna win and what happened?? Your predictions and basketball analysis are pathetic (anybody but the Lakers). Nothing but a typical spurs homer.
Playoffs you're correct, but during the regular season a lot of teams play 9-10 deep for a lot of different reasons - matchups, tempo, hot/cold streaks, resting vets, etc. Would you like me to pull up 20 random boxscores from last year and we'll average the number of players per team who play over 5 minutes? I'd bet on about 9.2.

You've got nothing if you can't play the man. You're yet to make a cogent argument. You have a strong, shallow team, and over the course of the season I bet I'll find you and other Faker fans cursing the weakness of your bench (beyond Odom and Brown). We shall see.

You don't remember so I don't even know why you're trying to talk about this subject. But I'll fill you in. Consensus around the League during that time is they didn't bring back Robinson because the season was lost and big Timmy was coming out of Wake Forest were he would have been the #1 pick even the year before.
What you guys ALWAYS fail to mention is that statistically the Spurs had the 2nd best chance that year to get Duncan. So, why tank if you can't control the odds of winning the big prize? EXPLAIN THAT!

You know you're good when you score 33 points and there's absolutely no reaction to it because it's considered an ordinary game.

Firstly, I never criticised your starters, I admitted they are very strong, so forget that bit.

Brown I already said I like, and Powell for what he is (an outside big). But you have no guard depth - Farmar has proven nothing, Vuja is a waste of space - and as for Walton, nice offensive player who is an absolute hole on D. I'd rate your bench somewhere around the middle of the league. I still wouldn't call it "deep" or "talented", as we saw tonight.

Unless spur fan uses it to pump his team up......
Did I do that? No, I didn't, so once again you project and put words in my mouth. Bad habit, that, and it makes you look weak.

Then you said Fish was your 6th best player.
So I just wanted to clarify if you really thought Fish was an All-Star caliber player.

There will be lots of teams losing to the Clippers this year. Still, this was no win to gloat about, just like there's nothing to laugh about the Rockets losing to the Blazers today.
