The same way the Lakers are going to contain a healthy Manu.
First off good game for the spurs & they will be easily be in the top 3 this year out West. I know spurs fans will just say who on the Lakers will stop parker but im just wondering how they're supposed to contain all these 7 footers?
The same way the Lakers are going to contain a healthy Manu.
Too early to tell, but the simple answer, is they are probably not going to be able to.
at least wait till they play a regular season game before these threads start
It will interesting to see the Lakers and Spurs battle it out for the #2 seed in the West.
Blair > Oden
I believe that the Spurs have enough height to at least challenge the Laker bigs. It's very early to tell but by the looks of it, it's going to be dogfight when these two teams meat. LMAO at tlongII
I'm more concerned with how the Lakers are gonna contain Blair.
Too early to tell, but the simple answer, is they are probably not going to be able to.
so we agree......the loser of this battle will be #2 in the west.
of course this kind of insight is pretty much across the board.......so way to go out on a limb there buckaroo.
btw, has Grandpa left the rocking chair yet and gotten any playing time?
I think there are mismatches everywhere, and we'll see how it plays out. But at any rate, I hope both teams stay healthy, and the rest will sort itself out as the season goes along.![]()
The Spurs at least have the height and toughness now as opposed to the last few years. Mobility is a completely different question though.
Very tough. I thought we have no reason to be optimistic at least for now.
But how is LA's bench going to stop SA's bench![]()
Only thing Bynum is going to tear are the ACLs on his knees.
Bynums worst case career scenario is a more explosive Duncan. Clearly.
The Spurs and Lakers are non-issues.
The Spurs appear to be a very potent offensive team. Great ball movement, tons of wide open shots, and 3pt snipers were making the Hornets pay for backing off even slightly. Very impressed with the offense.
Not so impressed with the D though. Interior defense was lacking, I did not see a strong presence in the middle to deter penetration. Too many Hornet players were able to waltz into the paint and attack the rim. I don't think Tim Duncan can be the protector he once was at his age.
My preliminary prediction is that unless the Spurs beef up their interior defense they will fall to the Lakers who thrive on points in the paint.
Good luck with thriving in the paint against us Doc.
Good point House. Spurs defense is still shaky right now but I believe things will fall into their place as the regular season progresses. Let's see, the regular season games between these two will give us an idea how they match. If there's one thing I'm sure of, the Lakers are going to work really hard with this upgraded Spurs offense.
LMAO Oden
Not going to happen when he's made of glass. He'll be out for the season in like 6 weeks.

Agreed now....but with Pop's coaching throughout the year you know SA's defense will be where it needs to be come playoff time.
Now...do I think that will be enough to slow down the tri? Not at all! But I'm a Laker fan!![]()
