I think this will be a close game. Possibly a very close game if Phil decides to run that lineup of Mbenga/Powell/Walton/Vujacic/Farmar out there like he did against the Clippers.
If Josh was playing I would give us a good chance to win (since Pau is out.)
But since he is out that means we might have to got to the three pg lineup. We dont have a shot if we do that.

Dirk should be ashamed.
Pau 1, Dirk 0.
In what? sexual experiences?
Dirk's a 1.5, Pau is a 2.
No such thing as a 1.5.
Yes there is.
LeBron, Kobe, Wade and Prime Duncan = 1
Dirk, KG = 1.5
Pau = 2
It's pretty simple really. Dirk's better than a second banana like Manu, Joe Johnson or Pau, but not good enough to be considered on Kobe and Bron's level. He would need a player almost as good as him to win a le, and he's never had that. Pau Gasol would've never gotten out of the first round if his main backup was Jason Terry and Josh Howard.
KG and Pierce are both 1.5 and they won a le together. KG brought the leadership and the ability to anchor a defense, something Pierce couldn't do. Pierce brought the ability to take over a game in crunchtime on offense, something KG couldn't do. The Mavs have never had a prime-time player who could fill in the gaps for what Dirk can't do.
And don't get me wrong, I like Pau. He willingly took to the second banana role, sacrificed shots and got better at the things he needed to do for the Lakers to win a le. But no GM would take Pau over Dirk if given the choice. Not one.
Anyone who says Pau over Dirk is a Laker fan. No Laker fans have credibility. Hence, if you say Pau over Dirk, you have no credibility.
Having said that, I am looking forward to this game. Should be highly entertaining. Either way, I am happy with whatever team loses!
So you would trade Pau for Dirk, DPG?
Yes. Dirk is better. Pau is a great fit with the Lakers, but Dirk is the better player.
Pau couldn't carry the Mavs like Dirk can
Pau has been a terrific fit with the Lakers. He was exactly what they needed opposite Kobe. But it's kind of like the Ariza-Artest thing. Ariza was a great fit for the Lakers, but Artest is the better player. I'm not sure how a Kobe-Dirk pairing would shake out, but it would be fun to see.
No disrespect to the Laker fans, but I would take Dirk over Pau.
Pau can stretch defenses to the FT line, Dirk can stretch defense to the 3 pt line and allow Kobe much more room to work. Kobe + Dirk would have beaten the Celtics in 08.
Gasol is the perfect fit into the Lakers Triangle and is probably the best 2nd option player in the league but only a fool would say he is a better player than Dirk.
Son.....you would take ing Marc over Pau....you don't need to tell this forum about tkaing a player over Pau haha we KNOW you would..
I wouldn't say Dirk is a BETTER. Better jump shot. But he is behind Pau defensively...doesn't demand a double...not much of a post up game. Pau is a better passer.
Is it that crazy to say Pau is better? I understand there is an argument for both sides though.
Oh , this little fan of mine's is still following me around

bull .....he ing didnt even post a pic of Vic the Brick!!!! And that didn't happen til page 5!
What the are you smoking? Dirk of course is double-worthy. It's how teams have traditionally been able to beat the Mavs, by running a second defender at him anytime he puts the ball on the floor, or trapping him to give the ball up. It's how Golden State and Miami won.
And yes, it's kind of crazy to say Pau is better. It's not crazy to say the Lakers are better off with Pau because he's more of a traditional post player, but it's crazy to take Pau over Dirk in a theoretical draft.
Artest is a better player than Ariza, but they might've been better off sticking with Trevor. You could make a similar argument with Pau/Dirk as it pertains to the Lakers.
California weed is some crazy man![]()
