    Gasol getting close

Forward-center Pau Gasol sat out his third game because of a hamstring injury, though he will accompany the team for its quick trip to Oklahoma City and Houston.

Gasol's return to the lineup is "close enough" that Gasol will not stay back in Los Angeles, Lakers Coach Phil Jackson said.

Jackson revealed that Gasol typically would need six weeks to recover fully from his injury.

"We don't have six weeks," Jackson said. "There are ways to come through this without having to jeopardize him."

Gasol has been out three weeks because of the injury, also sitting out the team's last six exhibition games.

    Yup.

Lamar Odom shoulder separation (torn labrum?)
Chris Mihm Ankle surgery (he was the starting Center)
Bynum going down, Ariza broken foot, Kobe torn finger (shooting hand)
    Bynum again
    Pau this year

It's been years since the Lakers have had a healthy team for a full season/Playoffs.

Bynum had knee surgery. It takes awhile to get your confidence back. His body may have healed, but not his mind.

Just like Jameer was supposedly "healthy" in the Playoffs but everybody knew he wasn't.

With Bynum's confidence back like right now, he's averaging 20ppg.

He didn't have surgery but his MCL still wasn't 100% when he came back.

I don't really see this Pau thing as a big deal. The Lakers have a super soft schedule the first month and half, even without Pau they should win a ton of their games this month. I guess he had an MRI today on his hammy, still waiting for the results.
