Saying Schaub > Young because Matt Schaub has played 6 weeks of consistently good football for the first time in his life is just re ed.

It's almost as dumb as people calling Drew Brees the best QB in the league, even better than Manning/Brady even tho the closest Drew Brees has gotten to a le is getting his ass kicked in the NFC Championship Game.

In a nuts all the VY haters simply wanting to disregard this as a fluke and it doesn't mean anything.
All the VY supporters simply pointing out the dude had a good game today and led his team to a victory.

last time johnson put up similar numbers, they still lost, so at least it didn't go in vain today.

Funny how Schaub was abotu to lose his job and is all of a sudden the second coming of Marino and how jamarcus russel in his third year still blows but he needs more time, but not VY, he is washed up.

Who said Russell needs more time? Most people think this is Russell's last chance to succeed. People also believe that Al Davis is the only one senile and subborn enough to not give up on him.

Why did he lost the starting job last season? How many games did he lose in a row before going to the bench?

  6. #106
He got hurt and didnt finish the game, went all emo suicidal, and never won the starting job back because collins was winning games.

Because he's highly inconsistent and still probably has the worst throwing mechanics in the nfl.

That's expected from a young QB. I think Fisher made a mistake by not coming to this season with Young as his starting QB, everybody knew that the ans were going nowhere with Collins as their QB. I'm pretty sure Tennessee wouldn't be 1 and 6 right now if VY would have started all games.

    Your right, with games agianst:

    Steelers
    Colts
    Texans
    Jets
    Pats

They would be 2-5 and thats only because they played Jags twice.

3-4, because VY owns the Texans.

and don't think for one second that if Vince played like crap, dirk4mvp or DoK or any of his other haters wouldn't have made a load of threads about it.

Vince Young playing doesn't change Mike Sims Walker having a career day and Jacksonville crushing them earlier this season. Well I shouldn't say that, Young fans probably think otherwise.

That's not any different than Young nut huggers making this thread.

VY gets credit for the win, as well as for having a decent record as a starter.

However, his problem is that he doesn't do a good job throwing the ball deep and doesn't have a very good feel for the pocket. His progressions are also lacking. Looked to me like a lot of short passes and dump offs in the win on Sunday.

All are correctable I suppose, but I still don't see him leading them anywhere other than a first round playoff exit. (Not this year, but in the future)

Guy was a great college player, but I don't think he'll ever be anything other than a serviceable NFL starter, mediocre at best

No way. All of his passes were perfect strikes 30 yards downfield.

everybody knew that the ans were going nowhere with Collins as their QB.

You're seriously saying that after a 13-3 season Fisher should have benched Collins before playing a single game?

And everybody knew the ans were going nowhere period. We knew their defense was night and day with and without Haynesworth. Once Haynesworth signed with Washington, any chance of the ans being good this year were out the window.

its funny how much the vy haters exaggerate the props he gets from his fans

there is FARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR less " sucking" of vy than there is haterism of vy here

i think pretty much every vy fan here knows his limitations, says hes not a great pure passer, but that he has had a solid history of helping his team find ways to win games, which is true

most of them say that he simply deserves another chance, and the fact that he had a very successful college career, was a 3rd overall pick, and despite being generally inconsistent, showed flashes of great brilliance through his career, what is so wrong about that?

on the other hand, all the haters do is talk about how ty he is, ignoring the fact that he has shown potential to do great things, also ignoring the horrendous offensive tools that have been around him. keep in mind, collins wasnt all that great last year either. not a great TD/INT ratio, a low YPA, and a poor completion %. sure, his numbers were a little better, but its not like collins was just blowing him away in terms of production (not to mention he had better tools last year than vy ever had).

vy may not ever amount to anything in the NFL, and going by history, the odds are definitely not in his favor. but every player that makes it to the NFL deserves a few chances. let vy get his. thats all the fans ask for.

No, he's got to outperform Peyton Manning, otherwise the ans defense gets all the credit.

prove it. find some serious posts in recent times of people that went way overboard with their VY love. most any of them are fans that are making jokes that the haters take seriously. but i think all serious vy fans here would pretty much share something similar to what i just posted... not a great passer, but makes big plays, has potential, and deserves another chance.

Vince Young would have also gone 13-3 with the ans last season. Collins doesn't bring anything special to an NFL team, he doesn't have one of the strongest arms in the league, isn't one of the most accurate passers and is a big old stiff. VY can at least scramble his way to some 1st and downs.

And the ans have play lots of tough games this season, that maybe with the help of one or two special plays from their QB could have gone Tennessee's way.

    ans 10 vs Steelers 13 - Texans 34 vs ans 31 - Jets 24 vs ans 17 -

Those were the first three weeks of the season, one win in one of those games could have change the ans' season.

while there isnt proof that the ans would have went 13-3 with young, we can say this... Collins never WON a game for the ans. he just had to manage the games. Young however, had several times been the main reason the ans won games (like the 21 point 4th quarter comeback against the giants, and the other various comeback efforts he led)

collins probably was the better game manager (last year anways... which is what the ans really needed at QB), but VY is a guy who has proven he can actually win a game for the team. who knows if it would have better suited the ans last year, but all that matters is that he makes the best of his oppotunities now.

Well instead of going 13-3, they would have gone 12-4. The ans would have still been a really good team, the difference is they may have won a playoff game with Vince instead of Collins.
