PETA and their goofy followers. They will kill a human to save an animal. I bet if you could go behind closed doors with them they probably eat rats for breakfast, jelly fish for lunch and top off the evening with a deep fried laughing hyena.
The crazy thing is why no one thought to keep the bat for testing.

Can you imagine the response they'd have if someone were to say, waterboard a koala and post the video on YouTube? (Not that I've thought about it or custom hand-crafted a device, complete with restraints, with the necessary dimensions to accommodate said koala; just sayin'..)

I am a big animal rights supporter, and was a little sad that the bat died. (If indeed it did, we're getting conflicting reports now.)
But no matter your stance on the issue, Peta needs to pick its battles better. The Manu incident and the Obama fly incident just make them look unreasonable and extremist. I do want someone looking out for animals, and wish to support groups like this, and they undermine themselves when they are petty. This was hardly clubbing baby seals...

On behalf of all the innocent insects that were spared a terror-filled and painful death, I'd like to thank Manu Ginobili for taking out that thoughtless, blood-thirsty carnivorous bat.
